Toyota Tundra: Aftermarket Headlight Reviews

Have you ever wished your Tundra had better headlights? You're in luck. The Tundra has plenty of retrofit options for installing high-quality aftermarket headlights.

This article applies to the Toyota Tundra (2000-present).

When you're out driving in poorly-lit terrain, every added inch of illumination counts. It could mean the difference between your Tundra and whatever rock, tree, or wildlife could be out there. So it's easy to understand why aftermarket headlights focus on creating a wider and longer cone of light. They will also last much longer than your standard halogen headlights. But these aftermarket headlights not only give you better projection of the road at night; they'll also look great on your truck.

This retrofit kit offered by Advanced Automotive Concepts includes a custom pair of bi-xenon projector headlights along with a pair of Oracle SMD halo fog light rings. These headlights are incredibly bight compared to factory halogen and are sure to look great in your Tundra. The best part of this particular kit is that it is completely plug and play and highly customized to your Tundra's headlights. You ship the headlights to Advanced Automotive Concepts and they'll return it fashioned with the new projectors and Halo rings all set and ready to go. Recommended if you're looking for a neat and complete package that requires minimal work to install.

There is a reason the Retrofit Source is one of the kings of universal retrofit kits, and that's because they have an amazing selection of high-quality kits at competitive prices. The Morimoto Mini projectors are some of the smallest HID projectors available. This is important to note because a smaller projector is easier to install into factory headlights. However, that small size does come with a trade off. The mini projectors won't be as bright as larger projectors and some Tundra owners don't think they look as good with the Tundra's large factory headlight housings. Recommended if you're a beginner at headlight modifications and are looking for a great first project.

These headlights are big. They're the biggest Bi-Xenon retrofits available on the market, and with that comes one of the brightest projectors available that projects light over 150 feet away. Coming from the Retrofit Source, you know it's going to come with plenty of options, including optional Halo LEDs and variable bulb brightness. The only problem is that the size of the projectors makes it more difficult to install compared to the smaller headlight kits. Recommended if you're experienced at doing headlight modifications or you're looking for maximum brightness.

Spyder is known for making affordable and stylish headlights. However, they do not make retrofits, so this particular kit won't look OEM. Their headlight kits are plug-and-play and require little effort to install. The kit available for the Toyota Tundra comes with Halogen instead of Bi-Xenon, so it won't be quite as bright as other aftermarket kits, but it should at least match the brightness of the factory lights. The real reason to get a pair of Spyder projectors is for the added style and the included Halo ring LEDs. Recommended if you're looking for an affordable and easy way to get Halo LEDs.
