How to fill transmission chain link

1985 4Runner A340H automatic transmission

I am in the midst of changing out the filter and fluid in my 85 4Runner and thought it wise to also drain this little pan between the Transmission and transfer. I understand this is the chain link? I pulled the drain plug and about 1 quart of ATF drained but I don't see a fill plug for this. Do I fill this through the transfer case or when I fill up the transmission, will it fill this too?

Thanks,
JARED

Just as an edit, I found a nice image of an A340H transmission including transfer case and it does look like the chain drive section gets refilled from the transmission (indicated as a red arrow showing the passage between the transmission and Chain Drive compartment). Can anyone confirm this?

It will fill when you fill the transmission while running. The drain is there b'cuz of the pan having to bridge the x-member

Thanks MechKW. In total (not including the transfer case which I didn't drain), 9 quarts of ATF came out: 7 in the transmission and 2 in the Chain Drive link. When I fill it back up, I'll fill 7 quarts, start the Runner in Park then add the final 2 quarts.
