Surely you can. I still haven't gotten around to it but I will get that radio put back in soon. When I do, I'll let ou know and we'll work it out
It works, just doesn't receive a good signal.

Ok, got the radio back in and wired up! Works great. Can't believe those 37 year old speakers still sound that clear.
Finally...FINALLY got all of the dash put back in after having it repainted. This is what it looked like after I took it all apart. Jeez. I don't wanna do that again.
You know, it's not that hard. But there's like 8 million screws and figuring out which went where is difficult. I started out putting them in baggies and labelling them but really, that petered out after awhile. But that's MY error.
The brake light is on because we cut the emergency cable cause it's frozen.
Replacing the emergency brake is my list of things to fix.
Here is the video of the radio working
P.S. the song just came on and it's pretty appropriate for a truck I've had for 37 years.
'Aint no woman like the one I got'

Little update here:
I should be getting Dixie back from the shop in the next week or so.
#1, she would turn over but not run, just happened all of a sudden. She had a new carb put on last year. They determined that the carb had trash in it.
? You think?
And that's after having the tank sent off and reconditioned a few years back. The carb was under warranty so he never opened it up to make 100% sure but returned it for a new replacement. I mean, it COULD have been a warranty problem.
Put on a new filter, added an inline filter and gave me stern lecture to only put ethanol-free gas in the tank and drive it more. Which, I admit, I should. And probably will now that the dash is all back together and the emergency brake works again.
She's at a buddy's garage so he pampers her. Doesn't put her outside. Keeps her inside kind of tucked in a corner and has his guys work on her.
Unless something else goes haywire unexpected, the next major thing is repairing those rust spots in the outside bed wall. That's gonna be an expensive adventure.
No hurries tho.

Drove her back home from the garage yesterday. Stopped on the way home and fille up with NON-ethanol gas. She cranks and runs great with this new carb.
Parking brake works again!
Dash back together and listened to the radio on the way home with the sunroof out.
Had a de javu moment: Everything inside is now visually pretty much back to how I drove her home from the lot. (still need to clean the head liner some way) And driving yesterday with the stock radio, I remembered having to buy a round digital clock to stick to the speedo clear cover. Took that off later.
IDK, it was odd. Found myself glancing around for the time then remembered having that round sticky digital clock there many years ago.
I'll be driving her more now that she cranks, runs and stops good. She is still a bumpy ride tho. I'm at the comfort age. lol.

I found these curtains that my wife made in the 80s when we were camping in the bed. She made an elaborate setup in the bed to make it homey and comfortable like a camper.
At night we'd put these up over the windows in the camper for some privacy. She also made a 'couch/bed' out of some thick styrofoam. It was covered in this material and during the day while we were driving, it folded up against the cab like a sofa. But obviously, we didn't sit on it.
At night, we'd pull it out to make a full bed. She had the material sown/hinged so that it'd unfold and go around the wheel wells all the way to the end.
She's just ingenious like that.
Yes, I'm very blessed with a sweet wife that likes to sew! You outta see the baby dress she just hand made for our first grandbaby due soon.
And even though they're 30 years old, the velco tabs still work. lol.
I just put em on the side windows now so it's not see through.
We don't plan on camping in the little truck bed like we used to.
We're not quite as nimble as we were in 1988.
But in that day, it was major fun.

I found this pic that's a pretty good shot of the black plastic louvers that I had on her back window. No idea what happened to those after the campertop went on.
1984 at Edgar Evans in middle Tn.
And the black tinted headlight covers that's totally illegal now.

Few random updates:
New decals measured and ordered from https://vellosvinyl.com/.
VERY good to work with. Texted through the whole thing to make sure I got the right ones. supposed to ship out tomorrow.
Found these new heater/ac knobs on Ebay. The fan control is original.
Got my dome light working again. Blown fuse. I had been dicking around with LEDS in it and must have blown that fuse. If any of you find an LED that works in there, please let me know.
She beeps again! Fuse just needed adjusting some.
This is my next project. Somehow that got broken. Either finding a new one or messing around with it to make it work. TBH,I'm not going to mess with the heat and air. It'd just be for cosmetics to get it all back together. Maybe one day heat and air.
Found a new boot on Ebay custom made to fit this year model. Clearly this one has done all it's going to do.

Got the new boot in from Ebay vendor.
Works great. Not so easy to 'secure' to the original wire brace with contact cement as he says. But it fits and looks great.
I've had some time off work so have had more time to piddle with her.
I've reached the conclusion that if I can, I'm going to replace the whole bed. There's just too much rust. I have a lead possible on one that I should know more about later today. It'd require a LOOONNGGG road trip. but hey, that's what life and stories are made of.
