Just picked her up today, an 82 shortbed. my first time playing with a truck, let alone a 4x4 but i've been around classic cars all my life. I'm thinking about making a thread for the build even though im not planning on going too crazy with it. I'm hoping to build her into a camping rig.

My 1979 and the other is an 82
Going to attempt a restore on this 1979 Yota, been trying to buy it for 14 years. Finally got the old bugger who had it to give it up. So hello to all and glad to be on here. A lot of great info to be had here.

Just some parking lot fun when I i first got her in 2001. Has anyone else seen stripe design like this before?
Through the years I had done changes. wheels, tires, paint, small lift, transmission, p/s system from manual steering

Just depends on the local price. The asking price is what I paid for my 98 TRD Tacoma, but I guess these old trucks are turning into collectors items so...I sold my 83 with everything rebuilt but the body in not quite as good shape for just under $3,000 if I remember correctly. But again, it depends more on where you live than anything.
Looks really nice so I'd say it's worth it either way.

1983 Farm Field Find Toyota 4x4
I bought this Yota 4x4 in Indiana for $1,000. It's spent most of its life on a farm in a field and was used on occasion for hunting and getting wood. The bed had rotted off and a wooden bed was made from old pallets. The gas tank was rusted away as well and a aluminum pony keg was converted into a fuel tank. The truck still runs and drives but needs a lot of work before it becomes my daily driver but I'm really digging this little truck!. So far I have rebuilt the front axle, all new bearings, races, grease...lots of grease lol, rotors, calipers and front brake lines. The bitchen wheels in the pictures have been replaced with Black Pro Comp 15" Steel wheels and Maxxis Trepadors 31x10.5.15's. Bilstien shocks on the way and a new manual choke carb as well. I loaded my four wheeler on the back of it just to see how it would handle it lol.
Maxxis Trepadors 31x10.5 x 15 http://amzn.to/2g8BnRg
After wire the wire wheel knocked off the rust I went over it with POR-15 then a semi gloss black rustoleum rattle can.
