I forgot how long it takes to paint a set of wheels! But, they are finished. Also got some gaskets and a new water pump. Can get more things done tomorrow night.
Hi lift fix it kit came in so I finished the rebuild on that. Also laid down some hi temp black on a few things. I'm fairly certain I am done painting. So I might convert my paint booth back into a rolling cart.
Nice trick with the deck of cards...at first glance I thought you were playin a little Texas holdum' killing time waiting for the paint to dry, lol. I like the white and black theme you got going on!
Hey Troy, after looking up more details I just may be interested in you old gt25 turbo. We will have to discuss the $$$ sometime down the road during a hangout.
The idea will never be smog legal, but if I keep everything organized in a way that I could swap to stock every two years it would be doable. Its not like I do not go over everything ever two years for smog anyway.
At the very least it would be fun to take on the project.

Hahaha. I actually learned that from someone on here. I'd just make sure the lip between tire and rim is free of debris. The last wheel I did had some dirt and ALL the cards fell down a few times. Had to fix some whoopsies with that.

Why not make it smog legal? Find a 22rte and shove it in there. Pass bar as a motor swap. Then swap your motor back in with special goodies. No one would be the wiser.
I liked the deck of cards trick. Something I had not thought of, always like seeing others ways of doing things. Things are looking good and looks like it is coming along.
If I was to make it legal I would just swap in a 2jz. Not worth the work otherwise. For me, putting a turbo on a NA 22re would just be a fun exercise too it could do with in reason. Think about it, would it not be cool to find out how it performs with a turbo and maybe some larger injectors while keeping all the OEM setup so to return it to stock. I am sure many forum goers would be interested too.

So, didn't get a whole lot done this weekend. I got 2/3 of my amazon order for silicone vacuum line (6mm & 10mm) but can't do anything until I get the 3mm. So, instead, I got the old girl washed up and pulled from her place of slumber. Man, 4 years of sitting took a long time to get off with the pressure washer. But she's clean, gave the engine bay another once over with the pressure washer. Then we drug it up to the shop. Last thing I did tonight was to get the intake almost completely buttoned up. Replaced all the crush washers on the CSI rail, got the TB gasket in, upper to lower gasket in, injectors all loaded and installed. Also got the adapter plate/gasket/turbo all bolted together and loc-tited in place.
Last but not least I went out and tried to get the rear driveshaft off, however I couldnt. Liberal amount of wd40 and a 3/8 impact did nothing. Gonna try again in a few days. I also got some pics of the weird suspension mods on this truck. I've never seen a rear axle brace and double shock setup quite like this. Only thing I can think of is that the guy who owned it back in the day tried to do an upgrade. Idk, it's got a very early 90s show truck vibe. I mean its got a dual shock setup in the front with 1 shock running in single shear. If anyone has any idea as to what the heck this is, let me know. I couldn't see any markings on it.

hey mate, I used a jack and a 14mm spanner to pull the drive shaft bolts out. I have been succsessful with that method on my 86, 89, and my brothers Custom Cab. Works great and stress free.
By the way those bolts are tight, LOL
Would you like help with setting up the TPS. I can assure you it is a real BI....

Got my 3mm vacuum hose in last night. Promptly went out to the shop all ready to get the lines hooked up and got severely confused. Appearantly I can't read vacuum diagrams. So, I hooked up what I could and the rest, I need some major help with.
