you need to refer to a wiring chart for your vehicle. look for the wiring database serach engine at www.the12volt.com. also SEARCH this topic on this forum. so many people have done cb installs and written articles on this.

also, do not double post your questions.

I ran a twisted pair all the way from the battery to the radio and put an in-line fuse at the battery and the radio also had an in-line fuse off of it.

I just threw mine in this afternoon. I wired the ground to that nice metal frame that holds everything back there and spliced the pos wire to the ciggie fuse.

When I installed my head unit it required to be wired strait to the battery so I got a amplifier wiring kit with a big ass wire and inline fuse that I ran from the battery to behind the glove box. There I soldered it to the HU power and this weekend I'm going to be adding the CB to that same line. Now that I think about it though the inline fuse might be on the HU side wire so I might have to install another for the CB. Either way it works well and can pull all the power I'll ever need under the dash.

When running a pair straight off of the battery I like to put an inline fuse (about 15 amp) on the positive wire as close the battery as possible. That way if your wire gets melted by your headers or somehow gets shorted out it will blow the fuse instead of starting a fire.
