They're very nice speakers, but how much sheet metal work do you want to do? The holes in the doors on a 3rd gen are round...

We have an audio section now, but that aside, I don't think you want to go through that much customization to make them fit. They're a great sounding speaker when amped up, but sounds like too much work to me.

most likley the speakers wont fit. When doing door speaker you just go to consider the diameter, but you gotta consider the depth. If the speaker is to deep, the magnet will stick to the power window arm or what ever is behind the door.

With customization everything has a chance to fit, yet these will not even remotely come close to fitting in the stock locations of any speaker locations in your truck. (Assuming your's is a 3rd Gen).

Stock speaker sizes are 6.5 for the front doors, 4 in the back, but 5.25 will fit with some small modifications.

Drifting a hair off-topic here, but the size of the stock rear _holes_ depends on which 3rd gen.

My '96 took a set of 6.5's in the back with no trimming. A friend's '99 had to have some light sheetmetal surgery to get 6.5's to fit.

I tried putting some 5 1/4 Infinity Reference speakers in the rear door of my 99 4runner and it couldn't be done without any serious modifications. The speakers are too deep. I tried using some spacers, but I couldn't get the door panel to go back on. I have 4" Infinity's in my back door now and the 6 1/2 Infinitiy's in the front.

I didn't have much trouble getting Kappa 5 1/4's in the rear of my '98, but from what Midiwall was saying it might be more difficult in your '01. Nothing a sawzall can't fix! I had to do it in front; hurt a bit at first but you'll get over it! Good luck.

Well I just ordered my amp and rear speakers...all the place were the 6.5 Infinity Kappa's so I'm hoping I can make a template accordingly and get those suckers to fit...all I'm worried about is the dimeter of the magnet, I'm pretty sure the depth will clear according to most but then again, sounds like its different for everybody.
