wtf is ED doing on this thread - we were listing GOOD stuff not a company that puts out crappy subs that like to periodically explode from idiotic design implimentations, and a company that can't keep a single line for more than a month screwing over its preordering customers left and right....

Folks, avoid elemental like the PLAGUE

damn bumpin' -- dunno if you've had a bad experience with them or what your deal is. Personally, I've never had customer service like I've had there, and the 2 13kv2's that I have are hands down the best subs i've ever owned.

It's a shame audio companies develop such love/hate followings. Don't say "avoid them like the plague." Tell your experience and let other decide from it.

Rockford T1 power subs are some of the best $ for $ subs avaliable on the market as long as you build the box right. I'm running them slot ported. The subs hit so har I have the deck level control sitting at 3 points out of 20 and it still provides to much bass for me. During testing of the subs, the whole 4runner started falling apart. The est part is Im only putting the RMS minimum watts to the suibs. Im running a RF power amp 1000.1DB MY seperates are Diamond Audio Hexs in the front and m6 the rear doors. Running off the old school style PPI amps when they were made well, unlike now

Go do a search for eD on just about any audio forum.... Youll see what I'm talking about. My opinion is and always will be AVOID them like the plague... Hell i'd suggest audiomobile before eD and Mr Overpeck was a retarted idiot who didnt know when to shut up after Dan Whiggins and many many others nailed his butt to the wall....

I am very glad that your eD products are working out great. I truely am. However I have simply read to many bad things about the company to ever do businees with. Particulary when there are companies out there like RE and IA....

Unlike everyone else (apparently), I decided to stick with the "out of sight, out of mind" philosophy & kept the OEM head unit...it plays well & gets great reception. So I did a few simple upgrades like inline noise suppressors, swapping out the OEM speakers for a set of 4" Polk Audio's, front & back, with a 700 watt, 4-channel Alpine to run them tied into the factory harness w/a pair of inline convertors & rounded everything off w/a 12" Orion XTR Pro powered by a 300 watt Alpine tapped off of the 700 & all that can be seen is the sub that I take out at night. Out of sight & out of mind, which is where i am at when I crank this baby up w/ the clarity & precision that canonly be brought to the game by Polk...& a little know how!

hehehehe sounds like a nice system

I used the 5% limo tint treatment combined with sunshades to keep everything out of sight. That combined with an alarm whose siren is augmented by a set of air horns.... (cheapie air horns, that will eventually be replaced by some KLA5's....) I definately reccommend an alarm too.

Back to topic though:

Brax
Butler
Zapco - my favorite!!
Polk
Alpine
Infinity

yeah, Elemental Designs puts out poorly built products. A buddy of mine blew his sub in like a month, and it wasnt overpowered or sent a clipped signal; it just blew. terrible customer service also. the stuff looks good on the outside, but if you take it apart, you'll see what i'm talking about. just my experience.

i recently bought a sub from Ascendant Audio, the Atlas 12. Outstanding company. the atlas is a 4ohm sub with a second voice coil that is used to adjust the Qts. I hooked a potentiometer to that coil and mounted it in my console, next to my rear window control. it allows me to tweak the bass on the fly. oh yeah, the atlas uses the XBL2 motor, same as Adire's Brahma. www.ascendantaudio.com

They should update more often. New model lines every year sould be enough to invest in a website since that's where people do the research now.

I like to get up to date info on product lines.

As far as I know, the PG still offers The Titanium, Xenon and Octane. The Tantrum is no longer available.

My B/F is an installer at a stereo shop, I can double check with him.

Alpine has got some new stuff out for 2005. They redesigned the Type R speakers and have some new head units and amplifiers. I have seen them, but have not heard them yet. I am thinking of hooking up the new Type R subs in my Runner and testing them out.
