And, the 315/75R16 MT/R's weigh in at 65.1 lbs, so my decision is made. I'm definitely getting the Q78 TSL's, which will net me an extra .35" of undercarriage clearance. Sorry to hijack your thread.

First you have to get the mass air flow sensor back to the shop so I can finish your 3.4 swap!!

Ive made it down to rockport 3 times this year, but have yet to wheel my own junk there, and would like to before winter hits.

Well, its been a few months, and the truck is ready for a bit of work. It wheels well as it sits, but it has way to much sheetmetal which keeps getting in my way, doesnt flex well enough for me, still needs a cage and i have some other things that need to be addressed. Ive been buying and gathering parts for a little while now, getting ready to tear back into the truck again as soon as i have some time. My original plans have changed a bit, and rather than give away what i plan to do, i will just leave you all guessing by posting one pic of one of the Christmas presents i bought myself this year, they just showed up today.

I'd tell you more, but i would hate to spoil the suprise. It may be a while before i get to get any substantial work done on it, though. Being that i still am working in the driveway in winter, i am at the mercy of the weather.

No 1/4 or 3/4 elip rear. Maybee a better pic will help.

They are 3" front springs, but All-Pro strongly recomends that they should not be run under a full body'd rig.

If they shouldn't be on a full bodied rig don't you think they will sag a lot? Not trying to sound like a jerk, just asking.

What size boggers?
I am thinking of getting a set of 35x10.50 boggers.

38.5x11, the tall pizza cutters.

When i first brought this truck home i was looking at the 35x10.5's because i had an opportunity to pick up a set of them cheap, but found that they run short. The Q78's look alot bigger when side by side with them, but they do have a very deep tread and work very well. I know of a couple guys who run/have run them, and they seemed to say the same thing. The bite like no tommarow, but are a little on the short side. They are comparable in height to a worn 35" BFG.

schweet ya I was gonna run those a while back. The deal fell threw though unfortunately. I may end up trading my 35's for some 1/2 worn 38x11.50 boggers my buddy has on his cruiser.
I am probably also doing the 5mge motor in my truck this winter too so that should make up for some lost hp running boggers.

You might want to concider spacing the axles some using either wheel spacers or wider axles to accomidate the taller tire. I bet it will become alot more tippy on the trail with those taller tires.
It shouldn't be a big issue for me running 38x11.50 boggers my rims are already 3.5" backspaced and I am running 58" axles spacing front and rear.
So the stance is still wide.

Well, we had some time today and we mounted up the new tires. I traded off the Q78's to a friend, so we went over and made the swap. Let me tell you, these trucks just look right with 38.5's on them. Amazingly they still clear the springs and steering box with the IFS rims and 1.5" wheel spacers, enough that i can actually adjust the steering stops in some more and get an even better turning radius. I think that for me, these are the perfect wheels, and am actually starting to consider just sending these in to get beadlocked. I really like the look of cebby's, i think if i clean these up and paint them with silver wheel paint it will look really sharp, especially with that beadlock ring on them.

When i get the new All-pro springs mounted i won't even have to do much clearancing to the firewall and back of the fender. Its amazing how easy it is to fit big tires when you dont run 2" bs rims with wheel spacers, and keep the tires somewhat narrow. The rear is another story, these tires were into the bedsides just sitting still. I got it clearanced enough for us to take it out for a spin on the road, and amazingly the mildly worked over, smogless 22r actually turns them in high range, with only 4.10's. Its no speed demon, but it will still do highway speeds and has decent acceleration. Now i just need to get it back home for me to get back to working on it, and more importantly wheeling it!!

I bet as it sits it will be more stable than most toys, considering its pretty much the norm to run 2" bs wheels and wide tires with 5-6" springs. Ive already got 1.5" spacers right now wich makes me equivilent to 3" of bs, and im only running 3" springs, worn ones at that.
