Just move the shackle mounts forward on the frame a few inches. Make it a 45 degrees rather than 90 degrees.

Yeah I have my work cut out for me. The front suspension is a whole other thread, I'm going to totally refab it. Who ever built it put the long side of the leaf forward so Im flipping them around, building new front spring mounts and moving the shackle mounts back about 6". Doing that will leave the front axle in the same spot and make my approach angle way better...
As for the rear, for now I'm going to just move the shackles forward and throw some bracing inside to get a better angle but once I save some money I think I'm going in a whole different direction... Once I start workin on it I'll start a build thread...

Yeah I tried moving the shackle mounts forward and removed the bottom and overload spring also, still the same thing only it road about 5" lower in the ass. Finally decided that i just dont have enough weight in the back to make the springs move. Working on a 4-link with Fox Air Shox for the back. Probably will wait till this winter to tear it apart though.
