No worries... you've got at least one interested viewer anyway.

Don't suppose you plan on drawing some designs of your new mounting/hanger setup?
pity you don't have a body lift too

Actually it started life as a CAD drawing in Solidworks so yes, I do have a measured drawing. I'll start a thread on the swap here pretty soon, if not tonight then tomorrow night. You're not the first to mention a body lift, it's definitely doable but would be just as much work as what I'm making.

Yes, a Miller 2050. I don't know if I'd call this tiny-ass garage a shop tho'... I'm doing the majority of the work at a friend's place starting Friday, you're more than welcome to stop by just let me know.

Yeah, I'd definetly like to see it one of these days. Do you w3rk on the weekends, or work on you rig?

(I normally don't venture into the city on a weeknight)

...and, heck, at least you have a garage...

I do have a shop (prolly just 200 sq. ft.), but nothing I can pull my truck into. One of these days I'll rig something up. I have space, but I'd like to do it right (with a lift, gas heat, major electrical, etc...).

Oh ya, just in case you didn't see the link in Rob's thread...

I should also add that the stock solid axle frames have the spring bushing bolt holes 2" below the bottom of the frame, this hanger is at 3".
I Like this new forum it's a great idea! I did my hanger different than most people also. I was nervous about it at first but my alignment is still perfect and my truck rides better on the street than it did with IFS. I took these pics the day after I completed the swap and have since covered the original x-member and also the hanger, with thick diamond plate painted black-- it looks pretty cool. Any guesses on my hanger though???????? Here's a pic.

Weekdays only, and pretty much all my spare time lately has been working the truck or researching.

No clue on your hanger lcopelan22, the pics too small.

Mine? I used Solidworks. It's pretty easy to use.

It all depends on whatyou want to build, and what you want to buy.... Personally, I haven't seen a single SAS part you can buy worth a crap...

Last few I have done, have been anywhere from 1k to 2k, and thats depending on the steering/diff you want to use...

CrashFab, I've seen some crappy SAS stuff too. But you have to admit that that AP Hy steer is quality. Mine has held up great on some decent trails so far. And as far as the street goes, I did my own alignment in two minutes with a crescant wrench and it's dead on. I've seen Dana "knuckles" go for $400-600. The Hy kit for $459 is quality and I really had a hard time painting the knuckles because they were so pretty.
