3rd gen bumper finished

It took about 16hrs of good hard work to make this bumper work but I'm happy with the outcome let me know what you think.

Yeah but there was a lot of work to be done from when they sent it to me. They don't make mounting brackets for the 3rd gen 4runner and the sides stick out about 2" further than they should on each side so I had to build mounting brackets from scratch and shorten the ends 2 or so inches on each side. Doesn't sound like much but it took some time as I'm sure you know having just build your own bumper. Nice job by the way.

Yeah I had toyota find me an engine out of an 02 with 75,000mi with new water pump, timing belts, drive belts, rear main seal, est. Everything cost about $3152.00 which is a killer deal for an entire engine swap with a fair amount of new parts. So anyway it's all back up and running.

Thanks man,

OH yeah, i know what you mean. I have no idea how these guys that ship custom bumpers do it. We found out when building mine that my truck had been wrecked before, but they did a good job of fixing it. So everything was a little tweeked. After taking it off to fully weld parts it would contract the metal and it would need alot of help to get back on the car. We had to use a hi-lift a couple of times to bend it back into making it right. Hopefully when we finish the winch mount it wont be as bad.

At least you got it on and it looks good and you got a new engine in. I would have gone for the 3rz

Yeah I had the same issue with the metal contracting but I planned ahead and so it contacted just about perfect.

Nice work on making it tight to the body. Getting a good bumper tight so the winch tucks up close like that is really difficult. That is why I made my own. At the time, there was no company that made anything that would tuck the winch up that close.

Good job.

Yeah that's what I really like about it aproach angle is great with this bumper and really hard to beat on a 3rd gen unless you build you own from scratch like you did (by the way nice job) Thanks for the complements.

Nice work, it looks clean. Slap on some lights and a front skid and that would be the best looking 4Runner in Arkansas.

Haha, it's weird seeing pics of my old Runner being posted up by someone else...but looks like it found a good home. In fact, it's still parked out in my garage...strange...

The bumper looks even more sick in person...we dragged our roommates car across our street last night with the winch too, it was fun.

Sorry I haven't checked this in a while. I got the bumper for $550 without mounting brackets but they sent me metal to build my own and then I fabbed brackets to fit my 4runner.
