My new project"Rusty"
So about 2 weeks ago I got a itch to get another project vehicle.Found me a 4Runner for a great price.($800 bones) and couldnt pass it up.I have own a 97 limited but was told "No mods to it I like it the way it is" by the lady of the house so for 13 years it has sat untouched(modification wise). So I introduce you all to "Rusty" my first, 1st gen 4runner.This is how she looks today after I tinted the windows and started on the body work.BTW this will be a temporary fix as I plan on this being my project for autobody/Automechanics later in the year when I start back to school.
Now for the damage....The good is I have fixed the smaller spots already.
"
Well almost all of them.
Now the good ones,This will be the biggest challenge for me but like I said its just until I can get it into the schools shop for replacement metal.
With only 162,000 miles Im thinking she spent alot of time on the beaches and not alot of time getting washed. So in a few months the engine, tranny and transfercase will be dropped.Ill soda blast the underbody, get the frame blasted and the start the undercoating while the seals in the drivetrain are getting replaced.Shes going to be pampered from now on (that is until I get some tires and a lift).
