UPDATED! New Picture Timeline!
A little about the truck: I bought a 1988 4Runner with 230,000 miles on the clock in January of 2004. I bought it as a "Project Truck" and boy has it been one. I limped it home with warped head and 40psi of compression on the #3 cyl. Today it is my daily driver and my weekend warrior.
A little about my decision: I choose a 1st gen 4Runner because of it's "usability". It comfortably sits 4 and I can haul my stuff around. I wanted a 5-speed because I've had 2 different auto transmissions die on me. I wanted 4-wheel drive to wheel trails, go camping, and feel safer in the snow. The general theme for my truck would be 'Exploration' - I'm not into mudding or strictly rock crawling... but I want to be able to get over almost everything I encounter and have a reliable vehicle to take into the wilderness!
Right now it stands with...
