Another trip. More pics. Joshua Tree this time.

First nights camp before I met up with the group.

Decided to give this guy a lift into Twenty Nine Palms.

New Meat

Put on new tires and wheels. I wanted to save the Lexus rims for a more street friendly tire, but a deal came along on the swampers in the 16 inch size and I had to take advantage. Hopefully they won't get too banged up and I can get to ATs on the alloys and MTs on the steelies someday. We'll see. Looks kinda blingy to me now...

Paint them black. That should take care of the bling factor.

NOOOO Just leave them, the black paint comes off too easy unless you powder coat them.

It looks fine that way.

Looks great they way they are. I'm not a fan of black wheels anyway. Love the new shoes!

When you see the new wheels on my truck you might not think those Lexus wheels are so bling bling after all

I think the wheels look sharp on the truck...its something different. How is the backspace on them? Did you need to put spacers in the rear?

Has your suspension dropped/settled at all in the front?

Thanks everyone for the compliments. The bling comment was semi tounge in cheek. I like the way it looks too and it's growing on me more and more. It just seemed really different at first. Before the steelies I had some Toy alloys painted black and I really didn't like it overall. I'll probably end up with the steel wheels back on there at some point just because I have 'em... and they're in good shape... and they were cheap... and so am I. It will just depend on what I find for my next tire deal.

Looking forward to seeing what you've got Brian.
These are 4.5 inch backspace and I was a bit concerned about that, but so far they seem to be fine and I had plenty of room unflexed. No spacers in the rear. I guess we'll see tomorrow if there is any interference when flexed.

Wow, those actually look pretty good. Looks more like street bling than something you'd take off road though.

Made a run. No issues with rubbing. Worked great and gripped much better than the old stuff.

Taco is a guy named Kent. The buggy to the right has a Turnkey LS1 engine and Dynatrac 60's. The Willys thing is my buggy built from a 1981 Toyota Pickup.

Nice run today.

New pics

Part of Box Canyon during our Martinez trip in December.

Sunflower Mine after the heavy rains in mid-January. The creekbed is typically dry.

Pavement pounding on our way to Sunflower.

Thanks to my friend Matt for the pics.
