Subject: '87 2WD 22r electrical problems
Hello,
This is what I understand happened, as I was not there when it occurred.
A friend drained the battery. Thinks he crossed terminals trying to jump it. He got a jump from AAA and he, on their advice, replaced the battery.
This is where I arrive.
We replace the burned out 80A fuse. It begins to turn over again. No Spark. Resting voltage on igniter is 12v. The coil showed a resistance of 9.5ohms. I cannot find the specs for Toyota part 90919-02106.
Will replace the coil but I don't think it needs to be. I have the feeling I should be looking for fused connections.
I am stranded in an expensive city with little money and could really use some ideas for further diagnosis and possible workarounds.
Thank you
