those won't clear the 96-02 larger brakes? that's weird, then i wonder what they are referring to when they write that the wheels clear the calipers/brakes?

grrrr.

Just had a great experience with Wheelers offroad, OME plus extra susp. stuff , order was right, and they sent a tracking number like they were supposed to. No overcharge on shipping either. Very happy .

wheeler's offroad

i was wondering what other people's experience is.

i have been attempting to ask some q's by email with their sales team, and each email is answered an average of about 18 hrs after i send it. thats REALLY SLOW.

now its been 27 hrs since my last email with no response.

i just want to know if the kit i want will effect any other items on my truck and if it is indeed going to give me the 1.5" lift i want.

ugh. please let me know your experiences... thanks.

a lift will make it handle differently possibly... lifts can effect other things as well.... jsut the nature of the beast....

well handling i expect. the only direct answer ive gotten from them is that the front kit im thinking of will make the ride firmer.

i got a leveling kit off ebay for 160 ship included +140 installation. after it was done.. i loved it.. 300 was definetly worth approx 2-2.5" of lift. Didnt affect any other parts. as for problems.. none really.. only the fact that about every three months my driver side rear aals that it came with starts creeking, but nothing WD40 cant fix!

wheeler's is a little slow to answer emails, but if you just pick up a phone and call them, they will answer all your questions and then some.

super nice and very dependable...

the Daystar 96-02 4Runner 1.25" Lift Front
Coil Spacer Kit and Daystar 96-02 4Runner 1.5" Rear Coil Spacer Kit...

maybe you guys can just answer my q's. i pm'd cebby and he and bob were helpful, but any other info is welcome:

1) this will give me about a 1.5" lift, right?
2) bob says that with those kits, i may need to "add an e-brake bracket to get it in line w/ the lift". any thoughts on other parts that may be effected?

beyond these two issues, my questions have been answered... i cant wait to buy and install this..!

I had the daystar kit 2.5 inch all around .. its a good quality kit. But it will make the ride a lot stiffer, in addition it will decrease your flex if you wheel. I took that off, and went with SAWs up front and just the daystar in the rear .. ride was still kind of still, but much better then just daystar .. then I put in OME in the rear .. greatly improved ride and off roadability .. so if your going to go for function save up for OME, if your going for looks, then just get a BL ... its the best bang for your buck on a less then $150 lift.

If you want to IMPROVE ride over stock AND lift, then get some TUNDRA TRD Coils for the front w/o a spacer and some Downey 1.5" lift coils for the rear and run OME shocks/struts at all 4 corners.

If you want to MAINTAIN OEM ride AND lift, then get a 1.5" body lift from Roger Brown for about $125 that will include the steering extension. A body lift is also easier to install than a suspension lift IMO.

this is harder than i thought!! my appraisal for the accident where a lady rearended me (i had a thread), is tomorrow morning... so ill know my budget better and if its higher, i might end up even going bigger and better.
