performance products

ive ordered like 3 items from them and had good experiences.

until NOW.

i ordered pp 1" lift springs on march 7th. they were supposedly back ordered at that time until the 25th of april. OK, thats a long time, but i needed that time to buy shocks and think about tires anyway so no biggie.

then they bumped the date up to the 21st. great!

21st comes, i check order status... nothing.. except now the date is gone and no date appears. so i wait.

on april 23rd, i send them this via their email form on their site:
"Hi, I ordered lift springs for my 2001 4runner on MARCH 7, and for a while the order status gave me a date of April 21. Now it shows no date. This is getting ridiculous. When can i expect to get these, and why is there NO DATE? Please let me know when they will be here, I cannot believe it has been so long."

no response. so i wait.

then on April 25th, i sent another email, thinking i would try to be nicer.... "My order (2817246) has yet to arrive, and I already sent an inquiry asking when it will arrive. Please let me know. Thanks"

no response. so i wait.

so yesterday, the 27th, i write "I have emailed twice now, with NO response. Please reply to me. My order (2817246) has yet to arrive, and status shows NO date. PLEASE tell me whats up with it. Thanks."

thinking.. hey maybe if i beg?

no response.

I'm going to try calling tomorrow (8am to 4pm hrs suck for working people), but how awful is this customer service??

and i dont know how its good customer service to overlook 3 emails.

1 gets overlooked.

3 is ridiculous.

i agree with you lee. Especially with a company as big as PP, they should have better customer service and should let the customer know when a change happens. Good luck.

so i just called, couldnt wait any longer.

this is ridiculous. the guy took forever to look it up (i finally reached a human being after being hung up on by machines 3 times)... he looks it up and goes

"oh, it looks like we have 68 pairs due to arrive on..................

...................

.......5/24."

A WHOLE MONTH MORE.

oh my god. im so frustrated.

i guess ill wait. im getting the shocks next week... and ill be able to afford tires in may. so, oh well.

That particular spring set is only available through them and is made by H&R over in Germany and are custom made to work with Bilstiens and from what I've read on this board and others they work well together so they kinda have people by the short hairs with these springs.

I ordered those springs back in the end of january and they said the same thing. Backordered. After waiting for three weeks, i bagged em and got my spacers from cornfed. Its now may and i'm lifting and loving it. I'm actually very glad i bagged those springs cause i would be pretty pissed if i was still waiting. sorry to hear that man. Good luck with them.

i have to agree somewhat. if you can't wait, then go with a dirrerent setup. I have had the PP springs w/ HD bilsteins. I like them and it is the setup my wife runs on her 99 sr5.
for the $$$ 400 for the springs+250-300 for shocks, you could go with the an OME setup.

the pp does have some drawbacks. the high pressure billies will give you a bit firmer ride which translates into felling more road bumps. It hndles great and it will lift your truck around 1.5", but you can get the same amount of lift w/ low pressure OME w/ their springs in the rear and tundra springs w/out a TO spacer.

just another option, b/c i have NO patience

What's the big diff in going with Tundra coils in the front vs the complete OME setup? I'm still deciding between the Bils/PP and the OME setup.

i have not run OME springs up front, but from what I hear (SOME PEOPLE) find the OME fronts to be too stiff, b/c they are not made for the 4r. The Tundra coil is plush and is ideal for lift and ride quality. There are several people with OME all around and love it....

i can wait. im getting new tires too, so this is just a means of stalling till i can afford those and just do tires, shocks and springs all at once.

im going with the pp setup cause it isnt a dramatic lift. i cant have a big tall truck right now, if i could id go for a 3" lift in a heartbeat. but i live in the city and park in garages a lot, so it doesnt suit me to lift it to the point where i cant park it.

plus the tires will give me another half inch, so 2" aint bad for my occaisonal wheeling. the truck will look damn good though!

i dont mind a slightly harsher ride anyway.. we have so many bumps in our roads here that it doesnt matter what car / truck you have, youll be uncomfortable!

So,hopefully they'll not sell all the sets they recieve since I'm just about ready to order the springs and I'll just get the shocks elsewhere maybe shox.com.
Nitto TerraGrapplers (265/75s of course) will follow shortly.

bump:

so they say May 25th - 27th I should get them.

The order status is STILL not updated (it has no date)... so we'll see about that.

I just called and that was the answer i got. they'd better freakin get here by that time, cause this is RIDICULOUS.
