Ok... So tomorrow will be exactly a MONTH that I have been driving a friggin rental car. Seriously?! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?! Everyday I call my mechanic now and ask him if my engine has shown up yet and everyday he laughs and says no. I follow that phone call with another one to Jiffy Lube and it seems like everyday it's another excuse as to why it hasn't shown up yet or they just play stupid.
Does anyone else think that I should just call my lawyer? $14.75 a day in rental car insurance is starting to get expensive. Not to mention all the "pain and suffering" of having to deal with all of this crap!

i love to take my truck to jiffy lube. theyre the best peopple to take your truck for oil changes. they do work quickly and efficiently. there is no other place id take my truck for an oil change.
im joking, like do your own oil changes, even a monkey could do one.

lol try doing an oil change on a 07 2wd taco, with no jacks or stands. i was not a happy camper. i squeezed myself under the truck and then i saw where the filter was. i tried to take off the filter with a filter wrench but someone put the filter on soo tight and i couldnt put more force because it was at an awkward place. so i stuck a crowbar pointy tip and tried to turn the filter by hammering on it. i hate working on cars, not enough space to work with.

Update: It's been 5 weeks now and I FINALLY got the motor. Only one problem... It's not the motor they said they bought. It has about 20K miles more on it. However I am tired of waiting to get my truck fixed so I worked out a deal with Jiffy Lube. I told them I would accept the motor they bought only if they let my mechanic rebuild it. Surprisingly they agreed. So my mechanic is going to replace the head gasket, timing chain, water pump, etc... And if he sees anything else that needs to be done he is going to just do it and Jiffy Lube is going to pay the bill.
The funniest thing about all of this so far is that with the rental car for 5 weeks, the engine they bought for 1500 and the labor, Jiffy Lube has paid out over $6,000!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Now THAT'S an expensive oil change!

Ok, so now it's been 9 weeks! The motor Jiffy Lube bought is crap. I had my mechanic order the master rebuild kit from Enginbuilder. The parts are in now but when my mechanic pulled the head off the cylinder walls were pitted up pretty bad and there is surface rust on them also.
So the wait continues. Monday we are sending the motor out to be machined. Another $600 in labor and most likely another week added to my wait time. I'm starting to wonder if Enterprise Rental cars has a rent to own program! LOL!
I JUST WANT MY TRUCK BACK!!!!! This whole experience has been a nightmare! I SO learned my lesson about doing my own maintenance.

Wow, that really sucks. Waiting is the worst part.
Not that it will make you feel any better, but when I was younger and more stupider, I put a rod through the side of the block in my 22re 4runner. I had to wait about 9 months to save enough money to put a new engine in it.
The whole time I had to drive a 1981 jetta. So I don't want to hear any complaints about having to drive a rental. Rental cars always jump better anyways.
I'm not trying to bash or say that it's your fault, but the whole thing could have been avoided by just checking it after you got it back from them. If I get lazy on the wife's car, I'll have a place do it, but I'll check it before I even leave the lot. Unfortunately this doesn't prevent them from cross threading the drain plug, which is what happened last time.

Update: Well... IT'S FINALLY DONE!!!!!!!! It's only been since the last week of February and now here it is the middle of June!
So here's the synopsis: The motor Jiffy Lube bought to replace mine was crap. So I told them I would accept that motor only if they let my mechanic completely rebuild it. And they said yes. So that's what we did. A COMPLETE rebuild.
Completely broke down the motor
sent it out to get acid washed and honed out
got the master rebuild kit from enginbuilder
put it all back together and she purrs like a kitten now.
The BEST thing about all of this was the final bill I took over to Jiffy Lube. It listed out all the charges and among them was... OIL CHANGE: $24!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
So the grand total for Jiffy Lubes screw up: Used 3.0----------$1,450.00
Labor and parts--$1,875.00
Rental car---------$6,389.00

$9,714.00
All for a $26 oil change.
