In a thread here on YT, I found out about a bracket for an Optima red top battery which will eliminate the need to use plywood, or the "standard" riser.
From a post on the national TTORA board:
Given that my battery has been sliding all over for the last year, I jumped on it.
I'm VERY pleased with the bracket and ENOffRoad. Quick shipping, great communication, excellent transaction.

Old, old & new, new and new!
(the green cricle in the first pic shows a slice I had made in the original bracket in order for it to sit onto the Optima at all - not really safe)

The main body is made from 16ga cold rolled steel, that has been dimpled to reduce weight, add strength, and a little style. The body is then welded to 1/8" thick side rails and 16ga angle steel to hold the battery from sliding around.
They come raw finished and are available for $36 shipped to the lower 48 states. If interested contact me at enroffroad@cox.net
