Cottman Transmission
The first Cottman franchise I called flat out told me that CV boots were not available seperately, they only came with a new or rebuilt axle!!!!
Should've blown off Cottman at this point.
Took my truck to another Cottman's to have the whine fixed. I know it was the input shaft & bearing and told them so.
They rebuilt the trans, failing to replace to input shaft. The trans still had the same noise I took it in for.
They REPLACED the trans with my permission, but this trans will not stay in first. They also replaced the transfer WITHOUT my knowledge or consent. (The new transfer has junk yard paint marks all over it) During one of the several re-installs, they stripped one of the driveshaft bolts and replaced it with a hardware variety POS. They said I would be responsible for replacing the bolt if I wanted a factory "style". They have tried to fix the gear popping twice to no avail.
They refused to refund my money, saying they've done too much work on it. Yet my trans is in MUCH WORSE condition now than when I brought it to them. They offer to continue working on it, but it is clear they don't have the slightest idea what they are doing, and don't really care either.

There are serious problems with Cottman all over the country.
