I guess the real question is "why" do you need a dropped pitman arm. In stock setup, you would not need one, in fact it would probably be difficult to actually make one work. You you are running a solid axle swap (SAS) then there are a number vendors that offer pitman arms from flat to dropped for crossover steering applications.

WHY? Well I have 8" alcon springs (SAS) with the crossover and the steering rod (from the pitmen arm to the crossover) is on such an angle that it steers kind of squirrely.

Well, there you have explained why, that was not listed in the original question. What steering arm do you have on there now? What caster angle are you running on the front axle? How is the steering squirely? Does it wander, pull to one side or the other, have "death wobble" or bump steer?

I would have to say it wanders. Also when going down the rd when you turn a little it feels as you could lose it at any time. Caster Angle: I didn't move the stock mounts/perches. No degree wedges (yet). I'm using an 81 toy axle and the Marlin kit (-) springs. (Alcan 8" springs) I set tow in / tow out with strings from front tires to rear tires and measured the frontside & backside of the front tires. If I'm not on its so clese. The 4R has the stock pitmen arm on it.

Wandering would be more likely caster angle (there are shops that specialize in alignments, just get the caster angle measured). Or it could be due to too low a pre-load or worn knuckle bearings. Check everything for play, worn spring bushings, ball joints, etc.

4Crawler THANKS!! Today I got about 90% of the problems worked out. I added a "pan rod / track bar" to the front end. I droped off the frame with a mount, came up off the spring plate (top of springs that the U-bolts go through) with a mount and a rod betweem. On the rear, I have FJ80 4" lift coil springh with a 2" spacer, I have extended the lower mounts & arms 18"s. I had extended the upper arms 2"s. Today I raised/extended the upper mounts about 8"s. Before it was pulling the rear on the truck down.(too steep of an angle)
Am I reinventing the wheel? I don't know! I guess leaf spring all the way around might have been the way to go. I like to be a little different.
This is the "FIRST" SAS 4runner around here!!!!!! I got it out on the rode & it did so much better. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE INFO!!! It made me think.
