what are normal characteristics of a lock right?

I just put in my lock right. I guess it takes so getting used to my vehicle feels somewhat bogged down when
I start off in first gear it also seems like when I start off it pulls up and to the right. Is this normal? Just seems weird that's all this is my first locked vehicle so all this seems strange that's all.

Sounds normal. My 89 with a lockright in the rear did the same. Both tires are pushing equally. Upon acceleration it would tend to push one way or another and equal out. It clicked and lurched while turning too. It did very well off road as long as I wasn’t side hilling on mud or snow. The rear had a tendency to slide around a lot.

I got a big bang out of the rear end last night when I turned. It was kind of freaky it still seems ok though.

If you do a search on Lockright, you'll probably find that this behavior is pretty common in turns. The locker disengages when your outside tire needs to spin faster than the inside tire...and your inside tire will drive you through the corner. As soon as the speed of the two wheels become nearly identical, the locker will engage again and you'll get a bang as the shock is transmitted through the drivetrain.

Be careful on slick roads...it'll get squirrely on ya.

The only other issue I had possibly unrealated is braking fade due to the ABS but that might a issue with the ABS sensor when I pulled the diff.

Fade? When the ABS is engaged? Did you remove the wheel cylinders for some reason? Bleed the brakes? Does the pedal feel mushy? Go to the floor?

No it might have been a little air in the braking system it hasn't done it since I bled the brakes so I guess it was a probably it.
Other than that the lockright seems to be operating ok it's awsome offroad my buddy went with me on the last outing he couldn't believe I was just crawling up some hills he had problems with in his open diff.
