Hi there, well a little more info...What size tires are you planning on running? Are you running the V6 or the 4 banger??

The front and rear gears have to match...otherwise the front tire(s) would spin at a different speed than the rear. Toyota didn't put 4.88's in a front SA (that I know of), yes, you'd have to swap the gears out in the new SAS as well.

I have heard of some folks running different gears, front and rear, temporarily. But I wouldn't recommend it.

I think the front diff on an IFS is a 7.5 inch. Isn't that the same as the front diff on a SA?

The gears will be a different size. You will just sell the IFS stuff to someone here who needs new stuff or wants the gears, already set up. You should be able to recoup some cash that way...

Solid axle fronts are the same as solid axle rears; 8". Your 7½" gears won't fit. Sell them off to pay for some of the new gears. You could find a factory 4.88 rear diff and put it up front, may save a little cash that way but then you have the issues that come with those diffs (no possible regearing) to contend with.
