Softest rear sring pack and figuring travel

I'm looking to get a new spring pack for the rear of my runner. I am anticipating 2-3 inches of lift to match the long travel setup that I will have in front. I want this to be multi purpose, I'd like to have as much flex for articulation, as well as great absorption for the dunes, but above all I want it to ride well on the road. What is better for this fewer thick springs or more thin springs?

I've been thinking devaer or downey, but I hear the downey's flatten out like our stockers.

Also What is the longest shock I can fit(and use) under this type of setup and what kind of travel can be seen.

How much travel would a stock 80's 4runner get in front and back??

All pro has a 3" kit. My 4" 56" long kit works great. 8 leafs soft ride and lots of travel. It works well for me.

That looks like a good kit, but I would prefer to have it fit my stock hanger mounts. How long are stock springs and is there a direct advantage to getting longer springs???

I am running the OME springs and they are soft. IMO. The wheels travel smooth and I can still stuff the rear to the bump stops. I got the greasable shackles that OME offered with the springs but I think you can use stock shackles. If I were to do it again I would not get those shackles because they are noisy if they get dry and you have to grease them weekly to prevent that. Other than that I think they work great.

i believe your stock springs are around 47 inches long. the advantage to having longer springs is that it will increase he droop cycle of the suspension, hence more travel. check out www.mousespud.com/equip.shtml
