Quick question about 4-Wheel Low

This might sound like a dumb question, but in a 5spd manual what would happen if I was in 4 Low and I tried shifting out of first into second? Like I know in automatics, the 4 Low keeps it in first gear, right? So what would happen if I went into 2nd, 3rd, etc?

Well, I guess you're pretty green.

When the T-case is in 4-low, you can shift into any of the gears, just like when the t-case is selected to 2-high or 4 high.

Oh, okay. So it just maintains a bunch of torque and revs up really fast? Also, what do you mean by green?

Ahh. You are very correct. I just got a 4WD 4Runner a few days ago and the only other car I've had is a small 5spd Honda. Thanks for answering question, though
