Pulling out backwards

I was needing some input. I have always been told it is bad for your truck to pull stuff in reverse. I have no basis for this but the person that told me was on his 4th tranny and said thats how he killed his.

i always pull out in reverse since there's no recovery point on the rear of my runner. almost a year and no problems. I usually do it in 4L and hammer down.

The rear diff and (on Tacomas and 3rd gen 'runners) the front diff is weaker in reverse because the power is being applied to the coast side instead of the drive side. I don't know the difference of the strength in the tranny between forward and reverse.

It took your buddy 4 times to learn though? Kinda slow huh?

I just pulled my friend jeep of a stuck spot in Reverse.
I was in 4lo and eased him off with no difficulty was so ever
But I will be getting hooks in the back put on soon so I can stop having to pull out that way...

So alright the diff thing makes sense, are there any issues anyone knows with transmission or other parts of drivetrain.

Maybe the t-case,
But I can't believe of any tranny prolems,
The Reverse gear seems to be a very strong gear IMHO
