Actually last night we went through some pretty good size puddles. My shoulder got a little muddy and thats it. I wasnt expecting to leave clean at all.

Im going down too pick up some new rims and maybe a front bumper in a couple of days, If they have some tube doors I mgiht get some of those too

And yeah, sorry about the size, its not my digital camera and I dont have photoshop or anything on this computer.

Please reduce your pic size to 800x600 as that is the max size allowed on YT.

You'll get muddy...

I'm curious myself. Rolling down the window seems to provide the same effect except you still have the door for safety. I don't get it.

I admit I have been in situations where I would have liked to not have doors so I could see the rocks in front of me. In each case I have had to trust a spotter.

IMO, it would be better to pick up a set of spare doors and chop them down to give you more visability while retaining the safety and structural integrity. The doors add a lot of strenght to the cab.

I have an 86 Pickup with quick release door hinges, takes a few seconds to take both doors off or put them back on, however I do have a full exo cage so I have no concerns as far as the cab being crushed in a roll (and yes its been tested) but I will say that I dont have 4 or 5 pt harnesses but I am getting them ASAP, its not a risk worth taking.

oh yeah and I've seen videos where people in jeeps begin to roll and its natural instinct to stick your arm out ! be careful!

" IMO, it would be better to pick up a set of spare doors and chop them down to give you more visability while retaining the safety and structural integrity. Jim has a good point, several companies also make tube doors but most guys that run either of these setups have interior or exo cages as they are on more built rigs that see alot more roll over potential.

As far as visibility, its a HUGE benefit, I wheel with the doors on and off and having the extra visibility is awesome. If you have aftermarket wheel/tire combo that sticks out then expect ALOT of dust to just swirl in the cab on dirt roads, it sucks

Great aid to visability when rock crawlin', but...

I busted my left shoulder on a doorless flop. That sucked...

Bought tube doors after that - but I couldn't stand the dust. Ruined multiple radios/amps and CB's. That sucked...

Got caught in a high country summer storm w/ the tube doors on. Temp went from 85 to 40 in about 5 minutes - froze my off...then had to drive 45 miles of muddy roads to get back to pavement. That sucked...

Yeah just this past spring I was caught in a storm in early May west of Childs power plant going up the Verde Rim to Dugas....with the doors off of course...got the full effect...snow/hail...rain...not cool...

then to top it off...made it to Dugas by nightfall...and had to take I-17 back @ midnight freezing our butts off...had to stop at Mcdonalds in Cordes Junction to get some coffee to warm up...thank god for the strong heaters all toyotas seem to have!

I havent taken them off since.

You think that, until the first time you wheel doorless. There is a big difference in visibility. And the doors on older (read, 80's) Toyota's dont add as much integrity as you would like to think in the event of a rollover, but they do protect from rocks/stumps/treebranches entering the vehicle(until you get to the window) and can help keep limbs and bodyparts in.

looks good, though noticed the roll of duck tape around ur shifter, haha good to know you have it..... every offroader should have it... my friends got pulled over, for not having side mirrors(they would get knocked off when trailing, these kids are crazy they never slow down and they fly through trails and close encounters knocked them off) but my friends started duct taping stuff back on that would fall off........... these rigs they drive are old, yotas they are play toys.....

Looks like he was trying to gas it way too much up the hill.
Lockers would have helped him likely. So what happend to him did he hurt himself?

oh come on it adds to the suspense and you know it

i believe he had some fairly serious issues with his right ankle...EVERYONE involved looked VERY lucky to not have been hurt or killed. There was a guardrail that saved the driver I believe from have the rig and him roll all the way down the hill...several spectators were very close as well
