Looking for body armor...like the bottom of the doors/bed

Looking for some body armor...Not sliders or bumpers though. I want the stuff that covers the bottom of the doors, and bed. From the bottom upto the first bodyline, if that makes sence. I have an 86 EXT pickup.

Are you talking about Rhino Lining/Line X/Durabak? If so, search any of those names in google, and find a place near you that sells it, or, if you need it, find a place that applies it.

Nah, im already herculining the inside of the bed and floor of the CAB... I am talking about like...stick on panels. Kind of like steel plates that stick onto the body ad protect it. Ive seen them in diamond plate, and plain steel.

Hmm.

Well, when you find them, post up. There are a lot of folks with rust that would be very interested to see these for sure.

i think he means the bling bling crome side panels that stick on the doors and bed. Those things dont do anythign in terms of protecting your truck. they are paper thin and are just for looks.

I typically hear them called "rocker panels" They are rust traps in my opinion, but if you prep for that, you could probably prevent most of the trouble i.e. POR 15 or something similar directly under them.

yea, pretty sure thats tape. I have some bodywork I have to do...More or less just taking care of some rust. I was gonna do that, por15 it and cover up the spots with this stuff. I dunno..im rethinking it.

Clean it up and then Rhino Line (or whatever) it, it's stronger than the panels you're talking about. Or are you trying to use this as a structural unit to replace the rusted out part.

The only time I ever see those stick on panels they're mirror polished or diamond plate ( I just threw up a little thinking about this) and they're usualy on a 2wd Dodge Ram that has matching mirror polish wiper arms and wheel arch trim. Then there's the driver...

I would NEVER leave it chrome I was gonna use it to cover the rust/bodywork...but paint them black. I think I may fix the rust as well as i can and fill the holes as best i can aswell. Than just paint the bottom of the bed with herculiner. It would cover the bodywork well.
