HELP with LIFT?!!
ok i been searchin and gettin ideas for a lift for forever it seems but i aint findind excatly what i need to know. I have a 1994 4runner auto 4wd 4.88 stock. ill mostly be goin mudding and driving on road. here is one lift i thought of i just do not know how i can lift the front.
1.To lift the rear i can get some 5.5" 4runner coil from all-pro off road and im guessin it will lift the rear 5.5"
2.-or i found some OME 863's at http://www.sleeoffroad.com/products/...20and%20Shocks
i need the 863's b/c i got two 12' subs and two huge, heavy boxes they are in and a amp....i heard these will lift me up 6"
what else would i have to do to the rear besides these coils, which one is better
my main question is what about the front?....how do i lift it to match the rear? (the rear will be 5-6" i guess)
i have very little $$$ b/c i have to save it for college, so $$$ is an issue i just cant go buy a superlift kit for like $1000
i thought of crankin the tbars up but that wont get me 5-6" id have to do somethin else i just have no idea what to do! maybe ball joint spacers(i just heard and say them on my searches dont know how big or how they lift or anythin)
all help and advice is welcomed...as u can tell im new to all this and dont know much about it
the tires im think of gettin are either LTBs or TSLs...im leanin to LTBs

You could combine a 4" IFS front end lift with ball joint spacers to get about 5.5" or so:

The ball joint spacrs are ~1.5" tall and give about that much lift (more or less depending on the torsion bar setting).
And your rear may or may not lift exactly 5.5", maybe a bit more initially then it may settle over time. You'll probably need some adjustable trailing arms and panhard rod and/or a panhard drop bracket for that much lift.

how much does the 4"IFS front end lift cost...aint they expensive?
i dont want my 4runner to look uneven, do they make ball joint spacers bigger than 1.5 lift for front?
could i not just get ball joint spacers and crank the tbars?
i wouldnt have to get those arms and panhard rods now would i? what do they do and what are they good for i dont know nothin bout them-thanks

IFS lifts are not cheap, maybe find a used one from someone who did a SAS, or from a pareted out truck, eBay, etc. You can crank up the t-bars a little over the 1.5" ball joint spacer, but you'll start pushing the CV and ball joint angles pretty hard.
In back, look at the suspension links and see what they will do with the lift. Panhard rod will pull your axle off center, shoving the driveshaft into the gas tank. Pinion angle may be off due to the fixed length trailing arms.
Why not keep the lift height down to more reasonable levels for a lower cost and just as good a results. You can easily fit 33" tall tires with a mild lift, put some heavy duty coils in back for your extra weight, spacers up front and perhaps a body lift if needed:

i heard u can crank ur tbars up to give u 3" of lift in the front plus ball joint spacers would give me a 4.5 lift.....what kidna rear coils would i need to get to give me a 4.5 lift or is there a way to get another 1'' in the front to match the 5.5 in rear

That link and many more on the web page I posted earlier. I would read all of those links and see what is there. I don't think you are going to be able to get 4" lift out of the stock front end and have it at all driveable on the road. You are welcome to try cranking everything up to the top but don't expect the ride to be very pleasant. Not sure why so much lift is needed.

i was thinkin of gettin 4WD HEAVY DUTY TORSION BARS 26mm from downey...would it be possible to crank them 4" and then add the 1.5" ball joint spacers....

You won't want to crank your t-bars that much. With that much of a change it changes the angle of your cv shafts, which will quickly lead to you needing new ones... my rule of thumb is not to crank it up more than about an inch and a half, if ever that much. with an IFS lift, you lower your front differential which maintains your factory CV angles, keeping thier life similar to that of stock.

If your on a budget you need to settle for a 4" lift. That will be attainable with your budget and number of parts. Try to find a used 4" bracket lift for the front if not then you can get new tbars crank them and get BJ spacers and you can get 3-4" of lift easy.
For the rear you can get the fj80 coils and that will prob get you around 4"+-.5". Or get all the downey stuff for a 3". I would recomend panhard drop brackets, longer brake lines, etc. as 4crawler has mentioned.

you're gonna need new tires too...that's about 500-700 already.
I'd go with what Roger suggested. With 2" body lift, ball joint spacer in front and downey 3" kit in the rear, you'll be fine. You can put 33" easy.

ofcourse, all that is no good without lockers....atleast in the rear....oh, and you gonna need to re-gear too..both front and rear diff.
Usually what happens is you get your lift on and get stuck then you'll get the locker...that's when you re-gear. ...LOL

Body lifts for automatics are not that much more expensive. 1" needs no special parts, 2" and higher needs an extra brkt. or two:
