arb and 31's or aussie and 33's

Just wondering what setup would be better for a daily driver. I cant afford 33's and a arb so if i got the arb I would have to stay with 31's. here are the choices.

-Dwney "3" lift kit (rear)
-"1.5" balljoint spacers
-15x8 M/T classic II's
-33x12.5x15 bfg mud terrains
-4:88 gears
-aisin hubs
-aussie locker

or

-downey "1.5" lift coils
-aisin hubs
-arb locker and compressor
-ome shocks

and stubbs slider either way. its a 93 4runner 22re tspd.

neither.

if you are willing to comprimise, you can easily have both of what you want.

first of all, you definitely want the 33"s and 4.88's. you want to keep your MPG's and your driveability.

if you can settle for some good used tires, you can save some cash easily. i see sets of 33" tires with 50%+ tread go for $300 sometimes less on a regular basis.

next, you dont need new wheels. use your old ones, that will save you some coin definitely. if you are hellbent on new wheels. consider these: http://www.jtoutfitters.com/product/ONSALE1

if you have the saggy but syndrome on your ride, get some coil spacers for the rear, and then do a 1" bodylift to clear the tires.

you definitely want the manual hubs, no question there.

now, as for the locker, i would go with the aussie just to save the cash, which could be put to other useful things like a powertank, etc. but you have to decide for yourself

Thanks for the very imformative post! i definantly need new rims because the current rims are 15x6 and I think 33x12.5 will be too wide. I guess the new plan is...

-Aussie locker
-Aisin hubs
-bj spacer
-downey 3in lift kit
-rb "1" body lift
-4:88 gears
-new rims ( not decided which ones)
-33's

I got my 33's pretty much brand new, on ugly, crappy, "chrome" wheels for $200. If you search around you can find what you want for how much you wanna pay.

I don't think you are going to need the BL after you do the suspension. Most of the time when people want to run 33's they'll just do the Downey HD's 1.5" coils and a 1" BL with a slight torsion bar crank (but not needed) and manual hubs. I don't know if that will allow rubbing at full flex or not but it should clear the tires. That would be a question for someone running that setup.

For wheels you should just go with some black rock crawlers. They usually run less than $50 a pop.
