I just did the Daystar 2-1/2" lift on my 2002 4Runner SR5. I'll be posting pics in the next day or so. I'm still looking for tires too, anyone have any ideas on sizes to use on the stock rims?

not unless you have about 6" of lift. any lower and the extra 2" in width sticking out past the fender will dig into the firewall at the pinch weld like no tomorrow.

w/ 285's or 305's, 16x8's w/ 4.5" Backspacing is the ticket w/ about 3"-4" of lift, with only about 2.0-2.5" of that being suspension lift.

Doh! I always forget about that...

Nonetheless I would opt for wider (305's) tires... gives it a better stance and fills out the wheel wells a litte better

Yeah SC4Runner, we cant be so lucky to be as high as you!

Bamachem, I think thats the route I will go is the 285/75/16s on 16x8's.... I am sorta leaning towards the black wheels but the silver or aluminum wheels dont look bad either.... I guess I will just stare at the screen for an hour or so and decide???

Thanks for the pics guys!!! Keep em coming.

Lifted 3rd Gen

Here's my rig. It's a 2002 SR5 with the Daystar 2-1/2 inch spacer lift and Rancho RS5000 shocks. Tires are still the stock 265/70R 16's, but I'll be replacing them soon with 265/75R 16 Revos. Pretty slick setup for not a lot of dough!

Here are the before and after pics link:

Ok, I think I am almost done picking out my set up. One question about the backspacing....I am thinking of doing 4inch backspacing on 16x8, wrapped in 285's/75/16's...with a 2.5 inch suspension and 2 inch BL, will I have any issues rubbing during turns on the front wheels?

Does more backspacing effect anything else? ride quality, stress on anything, etc ???

Thanks everyone for helping the novice !

Hey grimpy, great pic. Can you hook me up with a side angle, front and rear pictures to see how your tires match up with your flares? I want to see how the 4inch backspacing looks...if they stick out or flush with the flares.
Thanks dude. We will have a very similar look once I am done.

3" suspension lift (though the front is sagging a bit these days)
2" body lift
stock 15x7 wheels
33/12.5-15 Firestone Destination MTs

I don't really have any pics of it just sitting there, but I could take some if you wanted.

Jacksonpt. Thanks for the pic. I really need some advise for the backspacing I plan to get (4inch) on 16x8 wheels. I have a limited and want to 100% make sure that the tires/wheels will either be flush or stick out alittle on my flares. Hoping to find someone with 4" backspacing on a limited.

Nice rig....about the same height I will be gettin'

Keep em coming!

When I bought it...

What I did to it...

How it looked when I sold it...

This is the one I prefer...

...although it is now a tad shorter
