Cool 1990 toyota ques.

hi ive been having these little issues with my truck the gas guage isnt workin the backlighting in the dash are out and my temp guage is workin either and I have no low beams on my headlights just hi beam. i think its some kinda of electrical problem cause my brake light and battery light are on and they flicker when im driven. ive replaced the little light bulb where your heat adjustment is inside the cab and now that is out to with the rest of the other dash lighting anyone know how to track these things down

Sounds like your alternator is on its way out.

sounds like a Fuse to me. If ALL those lights are not working, i would check the big fuses. 100A, or the 40 or 30A fuses under the hood.

Failing that, check everything under the kick panel.

not fun but with the amount of things going wrong i would say it has to do with your relay. I have no idea how to fix it but a friend of mine's having the same sort of trouble with his 90 yota w/ V6. I have a 22re 90 and have never really hade electrical problems other then a short in the heater that makes the lights not want to work on the dash. Good luck I hate doing electrical like that.

I would say, let's start simple.

This is an 18 yr old truck that lives very close to the ocean.

I bet fair to large sums of $$$ on a corroded ground. Check the "big three" - engine block to frame, battery to frame, and body to frame
