I jumpstarted a dead battery on my '01 Tundra and now it keeps stalling a idle. I have a check engine light as well. Any quick fixes or must I take it in for some type of recalibration?

sounds like your alternator is dead, The alternator should provide enough juce to run the truck without the bat. If it slowly dies after you take the jumper cables off its a fairly good sign the alt is dead

my second clue was the CE light

 

I believe the alternator is putting out plenty of voltage. I went from a completely dead battery to being able to restart five times within a half hour drive (stalling at idle). After sitting for 5 hours, it started right up for another trip and five more midtrip restarts. It just tries to idle at 100-200 rpm and quietly dies.

 

Not sure about our Toyotas, but you have to re-learn the computer on some vehicles after changing. I would try driviing it for a while then see what happens.

** Warning ** You have to be very careful and somewhat skilled to master the art of two-footing it until the computer re-learns.

 

If you had a dead battery you need to fully charge the battery. It could be that the alternator is rawing too much amperage trying to charge the battery. I would fully charge the battery with a battery charger, then pull yhe EFI fuse for a minute & see if that helps.

It's a miracle!!

The Tundra healed itself. Two days of "two-footed driving" while either the battery became fully charged or the compter "relearned itself" worked. The check engine light went out, stalled just a few more times, then it began to idle fine again.
