Hey, I have a 01 tundra, 4.7 I have owned for the last two yes with no issue. A month ago I bought a new jeep so the tundra has been off the road. I have been going out every week and running it for a little bit. Its up for sale now, the first guy shows up to see it, so I start it before he gets there, first time running in a week, and the truck is running like crap. Killed my sale. So looked at it after, and cant figure it out.

Its idleing really rough, so I scanned, and had random misfire, and codes for cylinders 2,4,6,8. I pulled the plugs and they look good, and only have 20k on them, tried switching coil packs to other side, no change. Checked pressure regulator, pulled vac line off, ran and had no fuel coming out, tried to pinch off return line a little bit, and no change. Cleaned mass air sensor, no change. Next night I check codes again, now its missing on all 8 cylinders. Pulled timing covers, and found the starting of a mouse nest, and a fried mouse! So I looked around, and haven't found any chewed wires. Only found the one cam sensor, and wires looked good. What am I missing?? Tried some sea foam in the tank and in booster line, no change.

Any input would be great, I really could use the money right now, and have a guy interested, but wants it running rite

 

Some where, some place that mouse has likely chewed a wire bare or chewed through a ground wire. It may tough to find.......keep looking. It was running ok a month ago when you parked it?

 

It was running perfect a week ago when I parked it. The only wires I found under the timing belt cover is the one cam sensor and I don't see any problem with the wire. Is there anything else in that area that might cause this problem?

 

crankshaft sensor? not sure if your truck has one or not but they are common and could cause that issue. i'd give all the wiring a good look over. oh and a bad ground will cause this same issue

 

I didn't notice any issue with the crank sensor wires, but I'm gonna go take another look and check the ground wires as well

 

Not familiar with your Coil-Over-Plug set up, but I experienced same situation with a Ford 3.0 when water got in a few of the spark plug tubes.

 

those cylinders are all on the same bank. i would check my valve timing (timing belt) first to make sure that the belt hasn't slipped. its possible the exhaust is plugged up on that side as well. something is affecting that half of the motor.
