Internal Roll Cages for Toyotas from 4x Innovations!

Hey Traxman, hope this isn't a dumb question but I don't know the difference so ill ask you. What's the difference between "HREW" and "DOM" and what is it abreviated for? I eventually want the 4RIC roll cage for my 1989 4Runner but don't know which to choose.

The HREW (hot rolled electric weld) tubing is a standard steel tubing. The DOM (Drawn over mandrel) is a higher grade steel that is also manufactured differently giving it about 30% strength gain for the same weight. The extra manufacturing processes involved with DOM make it more expensive for us to purchase. We only charge the difference in material costs for the two options. That's the quick and dirty of it. I do suggest the DOM tubing over the HREW for a roll cage. The more strength for the same weight the better for a cage.

Nice and clean ! Think you have one sold here for my 87 runner
Now can one add to the design of the cage ! Like add another pice of pipe up front instead of the one? Like to have two were I could install my cb

Give me a call and we'll get you taken care of! I assume you are talking about the center bar that goes from the front cross bar to the B pillar. We add a second one of those somewhat regularly.

Well shoot, now I'm curious. The pax-length cage looks real nice. Do you have any idea about its compatability with folding soft tops? Looks like you can still mount the hard top, so that's a good sign. How far back does the top bar sit?

Couple ??
For the first gen 4runner cages can they be removed after tubes are fully welded? I saw the install vid wich i thought was a real good idea btw.
If the cage cant be removed i thought about using the front cab section of your cage and some local sourced tubing with tubing clamps like the ones trail gear sells to tie in to the stock rollbar.
Is this cage (or any cage) going to be a pain for a real daily driver? Its hard to tell form the pics but it looks like front seat belt access could be a pain and maybe the window cranks.
Thanks!

There are a lot of customers running these in their DD. The seat belt isn't too bad, the window cranks are tough though. The cranks still have room but it is certainly easier with the door open.

If you don't mind me asking what would the price be for the 84-88 regular cab HREW kit be shipped to 25248. That's in kenna wv. I mainly use my truck as a DD and don't intend rolling it but who knows right. I just think It would be nice to have. A PM for response is fine. Thanks in advance

Hi, I wanted to see if you could tell me what the difference between DOM or HREW. Mark(Chefyota4x4) refered me to you. I like your kick out sliders for my 1989 4runner. and i wanted to make sure i got the best for my newly SAS'd Lifted rig. Please let me know. which i should buy. i want the stronger one lol. Thanks again.

The two types of tubing are the same size but the DOM tubing is a higher grade steel that is worked differently making it stronger. The DOM is going to be about 30% stronger than the HREW tubing and is the recommended tubing for both cages and sliders when the truck is being wheeled hard. I only recommend the HREW tubing for those doing mild wheeling.
