Would of been very nice if you'll make a version for 3rd and 4th Gens.
I'd be in for 4th Gen (2005) as its my pimiry wheeling machine, but also wouldn't mind think of adding it to my wife's 3rd Gen (2001) as well.

I'd love to build one for those years, it's just a matter of getting one in the shop! If you want to make a road trip and swing by we could build one up for you!

Will the 1st gen 4runner cage work with a canback or softopper?

I do not know specifically. If the soft top fits like the stock top it should but I do not believe the canback tops were as big as the stock top.

Nothing in the works right now.

Anyone near WI want to come up? I need a truck for at least a week.

Trust me, I've been looking at them for awhile, the ONLY thing keeping me from pulling the trigger, I'm 6'2 have a '91 4runner and really don't want to give up the knee space have a harder time getting in and out of the front seats with that running in front of the dash.

You know the kit though you tell me, is it noticeable or is it completely out of the way?

I personally and 6'1". I don't typically have any issues getting in or out of my 87 4 Runner with the standard cage in it. There's even more room in the '91.
