How much for crossmember?
That would be interesting to mount a rear bumper to the front. At least I would be original. It seems that I posted my comment in the wrong place. How much for the crossmember? Can you tell me specific mods that need to be done? Does the bumper need to be modified, or only the truck? I posted in the rear bumper section probably because I am going to purchase both front and rear bumpers from trail gear. I have been frustrated because it is difficult to find bolt on bumpers for anything older than 1984. Sorry for the confusion. In the future I will post my comments in the right places. That won't be as funny though.

My front bumpers are built in-house at my shop. The crossmember runs $100. That piece is slid into the frame pocket right above your front spring hangers. There are two very small tabs there and that need to get ground off. Then the crossmember lays into that place and gets welded in. Then my bumper bolts to it. I include all the hardware as well.
The crossmember also allows you to beef up that section which needs to be done anyway since its only .090 wall material and very thin/weak.
FWIW, you will not find any companies building bumpers for the 79-83 pickups. There just aren't many left on the road to justify a full design built specifically for that truck. However, the front is the same width and has the same flat mounting surface to allow my bumper to bolt to it.
