toyotafiberglass - Mojave tribute build
#121
All this motor & body work... starting to think you shoulda done a Blazeland LT kit, big T-Bars and some AllPro Expedition Springs to support that go-faster 5VZ-FE. or you can sell the truck to me with some gnarly flared fenders and I'll go that way. regardless, still stoked about this. Looking forward to you laying that brown down with those gnarly Mojave decals.

so with the truck in paint .. I need to get a gate built . the original one was steel , and I don't want that , it's gonna rust eventually ..
so started cutting the hinges and gutting the inner ... also going with a little different , haven't posted this before , but I also build a smooth gate that has the handle moved to the inside .. (mock up on the old gate )
also .. never done this before , and I have never seen it done ? but I'm going to try "clean up" and powder coat a throttle body
so I tor it apart , and got it all cleaned up .
I needed to first make sure I could secure the butterfly plate , and done .. so , lets see where this goes

Powdercoating the throttle body shouldn't be a big deal, but I would probably recommend masking off the areas adjacent to any rotation mechanisms. The powder could be just thick enough to cause binding in those areas - kind of like where the throttle linkage attaches to the body of a Weber 32/36 or 38 and rotates against the surface of the body. Things like that can bind pretty easily without powder to begin with. I have no doubts that you'll do it right, but just in case you have a brain fart I figured that I'd chime in. I suppose the Trekker would be the next candidate in line for a powdercoated throttle body too?

worked a bit on the wiring yesterday ... modifying an ATM harness to MTM
got all my pin outs done .. in the last few weeks , so time to put them into place
worked out great , except for some of the pins I need to modify with the larger pins .
still got lots more to do , but it's start

It is going to be a great looking truck. That is a work out trying to get full coverage on the engine bay and all the different angles with the spray gun. Looking good.

so got a phone call today .. inners are all done
so with that , I needed to get a few more pieces done ..
started stripping the firewall brake and clutch lines
cleaned up the clamps and got some powder on them
also ... I'm going to try something I have never done before ... so wish me luck
I parted out an original 2WD Mojave a couple years back , and I kept the leather wrapped steering wheel . leather is not inn good shape , so I'm going to re-wrap it .

How do you lift your cabs? You get several people to help lift or do you have a lift assembly? I am wanting to come up with a way for my shop for lifting cabs. I don't have enough room for a normal lift and am looking at ways of lifting them. A bed I can use a cherry picker to lift off. Starting to look like a truck again.
