toyotafiberglass - Mojave tribute build

so I picked up a truck this fall , past customer whom had purchased a fiberglass bed from us about 10 years ago .
Older fella just used his truck for gardening and yard work ran the engine out of oil . paint is a "body shop" total screw up as you can see ...

truck is in GREAT shape , but does need a little frame work on the passenger side .... and of course , the PERFECT color match needs to be addressed

~ 240k kilometres on the clock .

so with the crap brown color , I had to think hard on what to do to this truck to make it have some eye candy ...
and this is when the tribute came to mind ...

The original Mojave was a brass # plated , 1983 truck from Japan . Canada had 2WD and 4WD models while the USA only had 2WD models ...

Cool!! Will look nice. Kinda nice to see the purest in action. As you know most rigs get chopped and modified (mine has)

Ok Corey, how are you magically going to make time to build this little gem? Watch out guys, Corey may be running on a little less sleep in the future so you don't want to poke the bear! LOL

so I have a bit of a dilemma ....

I'm in the process of building the engine .. and im at the point of painting the block .

color is my dilemma

I don't want to paint it black because it will get lost in the "sea of black" on this engine already

BROWN , the same color of the truck is really what it should be , but , I'm afraid it just wont look that good .

RED , is the color I usually paint "custom" jobs , so I'm thinking this might be a good color

Blue , well I'm just not sure this will match anything else , and clash with ..well everything

I think red right ?

How about a creamy white with some goldish-brown Mojave decals? That'll keep it looking like a Mojave, but won't be baby poo brown.

Dave , I think you misunderstood my post ... I'm wondering the ENGINE color . I will be keeping the outside color the original Mojave brown

but I'm thinking maybe paint the engine the gold color of the stripes .. yeah .. bring that color inside the engine bay ... yeah .. I think we have a winner

thanks Dave

Green and brown are opposites. They look good together!

That looks great! What powder are your using? That would be perfect for the aluminum look of intake manifols and such
