I've gotten my engine tuned up. It's amazing the difference it made. The truck used to be a complete turd. Now it takes off pretty quick. I replaced the air filter, PCV valve, fuel filter, and some broken vacuum lines. The biggest offender was the big line pictured in the left of the engine picture. It was cracked for a few inches up the side of it. The biggest difference came from the fuel filter and Transmission Cable adjustment. Still on my to do list is my #1 and #2 shift solenoid, transmission filter, and I'm going to try and remount my front sway bar. I took it off because my radius arms and steering were hitting it, but since I re centered my front axle, this should work now.

I also cleaned the throttle body, set the throttle position sensor and checked my MAF sensor.

I got my new sway bar put on. It doesn't hit anything now that the front axle has been centered. The handling got slightly better. It might get better yet if I replace the links in the sway bar. Mine look pretty old and worn. I'm sure the rear ones are in equally bad shape. My new solenoids for my transmission should be here in time to install them this weekend. Every once in a while my truck wont go into drive. Usually if it is in park or neutral. It feels like it goes into low and I have to either go into reverse or shift through L and 2 before drive will engage. I've read it is my #1 and #2 shift solenoids failing. I've also got a trans filter and pan gasket while I'm in there.

I got my new solenoids and filter in my transmission. There was a dark metallic sludge on my old filter and all over the bottom of the pan. The sludge seemed to congregate near the magnets like it is supposed to. I included a picture with the 2 shift solenoids pulled out. They are in the middle. I got everything squeaky clean and put it back together. I think I put in almost 8 qts of trans fluid. It shifts way better now. You hardly even notice it shift. Plus it doesn't feel like it shifts twice into 4th gear. It used to drop a few hundred rpm then a few seconds later it would drop another few hundred rpm between 3rd and 4th. Now it goes into 4th all at once. I'll see if the problem going into drive is resolved.
