TA, yeah I should start a new one. Ill take pictures and get a new one started to log my build process.

No, the SC hasnt been rebuilt. It has about 30k miles on it and everything is solid. I realize this is a bit of a risk, but I feel comfortable with it. My plan is to run it for a while and have it rebuilt down the road. Of course if it gives me trouble I will have to do so sooner.

BTW, the instructions mention a new Tstat, but its not a part of the kit, and I dont see it in your build anywhere either. Speedy does make mention of one, but never talks about installing one on his website. Did I miss something here? Has the Tstat been deemed unnecessary?

If you're installing the s/c properly (all the piggybacks/adjusting mechanisms) you won't need a lower tstat. The only reason TRD recommended one was to make the engine think it's not fully warmed up therefore making it run richer, therefore partly alleviating the ping issues.

But since you have everything you need to go as rich as you need, there's no need to make engine run cooler than designed. That's actually worse for it. 3.4L's will rarely go above desinged temperature anyway unless there's an outside failure that impacts the cooling system.

I was out driving my truck today (have not driven it much int he last few months since i got my MR2 running). I forgot how peppy and fun it is to drive for a truck.

WELL worth the time and $$$ to do the Supercharger install IMO. And i still have more power to gain with the 2.2 pulley!

Well going to give this a quick bump to show wht i did over the weekend, not that impressive but still worth watching.

I went to an MR2 meet this friday and had my truck along to carry my slicks and tool ect. It was only an extra $5 to race it so i figured why not.

So here i am with a full load of tools and spare tires in the back racing a miata. I had an extra 300lb+ at least on board i would estimate.

Plus i am still on the stock pulley, running the stock intake including ISR, tune needs work and my supercharger needs new roots.

Even with all that i managed to beat the miata and run a 10.67 in the 1/8th (aprox a 16 in the 1/4).

All these videos are in HD if you click the links.

I am happy with that all things considered, i could tell the extra weight was slowing me down a fair amount and i could pick up some time there easily.

For what it is though i am happy.

For anyone else interested here is a pass my MR2 made:

Slightly quicker to say the least, that is about a 12 in the 1/4 and it also left a lot on the table.

And here is what happens when you really mod these cars

Got some more videos of all this and more uploaded under that user name as well if anyone is interested.

That's awesome TA, looks like you got a holeshot on that miata. I didn't catch your miles per hour in the runner? What about a 60 ft. time?

Actually it wasn't a holeshot, i beat him by .2 of a second

My times were

60ft - 2.41
1/8th ET - 10.68
1/8th miles per hour - 66.04

his were:

60ft - 2.73
1/8th ET - 10.80
1/8th miles per hour - 71.84

My 60ft could have been quicker as well, i didn't luanch it as good as i could have and that extra weight was really hurting.

Everything done right and it at full power and no extra weight it would EASILY break into the 9's, possibly mid to low 9's. I have at least another 50hp waiting for me to have the $$$ to unlock it.

damn i guess i would have thought that these motors would put down more power..what kind of tq numbers are you getting with the supercharged setup? I just started getting into the truck scene, but we used to do free mods and tuning upgrades to get our 2.0l dsm's into the close to 300 range, granted that's turbo. i am in no way trying to put down your setup, just curious.

BIG differnce between a DSM motor or any turbo setup like that and a trucks supercharged motor going through a slushbox tranny, transfer case, and big AT tries.

I have an MR2 with just a bolt on turbo making 325rwhp, right now and have had a lot of other fast cars, lot easier to make power with them. But not tourqe.

On the truck i had full tourqe from ~2000 rpms all the way to redline, the tourqe curve was flat. Tourqe was somwhere in the high 200's, it dropped slightly in the top end but only a liittle.

Plus my truck is far from perfect/done. The supercharger needs new roots so i can run a smaller pulley, a few other issues and tuning to be done and it will easily put down 250+.

These motors make tourqe not HP. Even when these motors are swapped into other cars like MR2's with turbos they make around 300 - 350hp usually but most people don't push these motors like DSM/MR2/Subie motors.

Then you have the fact that V motors don't make as much top end HP as inline motors but they do make more tourqe.

All adds up to what we have. With a bigger SC the motor would really come alive but not any way to really put one on there easy.
