Update: The autolocker was a disaster, not sure if it was driveline angle or what but it just wasn't working for me. Pulled it out and will be putting it up for sale CHEAP soon. Looking for an elocker 3rd now. Installed the 231mm Tundra brakes and loving them, next up...if I don't find a deal on an elocker 3rd...is either a tube front bumper or sliders. Money and time have been real tight lately b/c I just bought a house and have been putting all my $$ into renovations and upgrades.

Bought a CBI front tube bumper from a buddy and have been working on getting it installed. First, since its tube, I had to pull the stocker off:

(You like those GOLD tundra calipers lol)
Then mask and prep for paint:

Then paint:

And all painted:

A couple coats of satin black really help hide everything

I cut the frame plate off the end of the frame rails but it wasn't enough So now I need to chop the frame and possibly relocate the front crossmember that the stock skid bolts to...I'll post pics when I finish it, should hopefully be done tonight cause we're hitting Longs Ranch this weekend!

Looking good Mauzer! That CBI will look much better with everything all painted up like that.

Make sure to post some pics and a trail report of Longs Ranch. I am thinking about going somewhere with some friends in a couple weeks.

Thanks, and I will

More work last night, cut out the front crossmember that bolt to the stock skid (custom skids here I come) and cut the frame back to get the bumper mounts to line up. Unfortunately we didn't cut enough and it was getting late so I'll have to finish it tonight. Leaving early tomorrow for Longs!

My amateur grind job:

My buddy Drew cutting the frame, its always less stressful when its not YOUR frame your cutting;

Cut the other side and ground everything smooth to find out we hadn't cut enough

Need to grind it all the way back to the bodymount to get the bolts to line up, this bumper better be worth it...I think it will be

Ok, finally got my pics uploaded:

CBI bumper installed

And the complicated recovery:

It looks like my buddy is just sitting around but we are all working hard (trying to figure out how I got that boulder under my rig and how the hell we're going to get it out)

That bastard dented my muffler and bent my lower link into a nice arc

Looks like you had a good time! The CBI looks really sweet but for some reason those tube bumpers just look incomplete to me...I have seen some guys who put sheet metal behind the tubes to fill it in and make it look more complete. Just food for thought.

Already planing to do that, just need to get a winch in there first and see how much room I have for plating

Next mod is an elocker retrofit, followed by sliders

I got an elocker diff but need to regear, so I also picked up another IFS front diff so I can regear the pair for less down time (the runner is my DD). I'm looking for a rear TRD tacoma housing so I can convert the rear to leafs and start swapping the lift from this runner to the Limited.

Been a while since I updated this...I bought a rear elocker housing from a 00' 4Runner and swapped the 3.73 diff for a 4.10 to match my stock gearing so I'm going to FINALLY be doing the retrofit! I found some mini led's for my front bumper, put the stock skid back on (just as a test fit to see if the stock bolt holes would still line up), Tantrum rock lights purchased but not installed, external tranny cooler purchased but not installed, replaced my bent lower link and fabbed up some "skids" (just cut up some angle iron), busted a front and rear sway bar link so no more sways until I can build some quick disco's, and ordered some 4.88's for the front but still need to get some for the rear. There...UPDATED!
