Thanks guys. The biggest worry was breaking that old plastic getting it apart though it didn't take much force at any point but you know how that old curiosity gets me. Hopefully others can use the info successfully, instead of cursing me when their own switch breaks- or that stinkin' ball goes AWOL. Good luck on it JBurt.

Jason, Chef, you post such useful stuff, I'm just trying to keep up!
(Like that's possible on the Chef thread...)
Actually, ALL of you keep me intrigued, informed and encouraged, what would I do without you?

This weekend I mega-cleaned my tru-flow filter in the 96. It took forever and ever, but I got a ton of particles out of it using a bucket, some dish soap and hot water. I've been using the spray on cleaner at regular intervals all this time, but this was the first I'd cleaned it this thoroughly. Kinda embarrassed that it took me this long to realize it needed doing, but not embarrassed enough to keep it from y'all.

G' day Hab. I see a whopping 2 tomatoes getting ripe in my meager garden. I'm betting the deer get them before I do.

I'm thinking the e-brake cable swap will happen in October after vacay. As long as it's done before ski season in December, all will be good.

Enjoy the last month of summer break!

Ah, the last week is this coming week for us, they start school in August these days. Ah, well.
You have a terrific time when you go, doing fun stuff and forgetting those silly deer. The chippers are getting some of mine so I've been picking them before they're ripe enough for the critters and letting them finish up inside. Durned critters! The jalapeno's came out really good this year, I paid a pretty uncomfortable price for a couple of days for not wearing gloves while cutting up 3 for burritos. I've also learned that zucchini can go in EVERYTHING so my kid keeps asking "does this food NOT have zucchini in it?". Bwahahaha, answer's 'nope'.

Good luck on that cable swap, hopefully it's as easy as the man trans one was. If you don't get to it before you hit the mountain at least you'll be better able to chase it downhill on skis than on foot!

Schools 'round here, elementary through high school, generally start +/- Labor Day and get out mid-June or so.

Hehe, zuchinni is so easily disguised. Hmm, may do the same with my 'maters.

We never set the parking brake in the flat ski lodge parking lot 'cuse sometimes they just freeze up. But, around this hilly town I live in an e-brake is a good thing. Looks like the tough thing on the auto is getting it out of the pull handle under the dash.

I'll have YT withdrawl while I'm gone for sure, unless I check in a time or two on my friends laptop. She'll think I'm crazy for sure.

Doing better than me RW, I'm thinking daisy but not a specific variety. Whatever it is, it sure is pretty and I'm glad you posted it Chef.

I drove a 99 Ford Taurus station wagon home today. Automatic, blech. I felt way short, even the Hondas were taller than me. We aren't keeping it, the hubby bought it for his daughter and needed somebody to drive it home. I drew the short straw. Can't complain too much, it's in nice shape and everything appears to work. Not a bad deal for the price. Still, I won't be trading the 4Runner in anytime soon!

Hey Avi, good to hear from you. I sure wouldn't mind a week in Oct- we get 3 days in November for Thanksgiving, then Winter break and Spring break. 6 weeks is a short summer indeed!

Not much new here. Been mostly teaching the puppy manners and ignoring the typical creeks and groans on the truck. How's things for you?

I do Chef:

with an 'L' connector from Radioshack in back to make for a much nicer fit.
I know I wasn't specific in my post on your thread, but you've got a real nice set up. Everything you do has been great, all the electrical, the armor, all of it. I can barely keep up with your activity over there!

Wolves. I know many of us have seen our fair share of the darned things, makes for some tough living and sometimes makes it hard to see the better times ahead. After so many years at the poverty level many years ago I'm grateful for the food on the table and the roof over my head, like Avi, I always managed to keep them at bay. May have gone hungry for a few days here and there and had more than a few cold nights, but always knew I was lucky for what I did have- and still am.

Cute puppy!

I hope to get my first puppy this fall. The missus is sold on it as well. She likes to take walks in the woods. I don't like her going by herself.

With my injury potentially stopping me from scaffolding I won't be working away in the mines anymore. Going to try and do my own business so I'll finally be home enough to get a dog. Really excited.

What kind of dog is that? I think you said Waif but I googled it and didn't see a matching pic?

Unless you just mean the dictionary word waif because he's little?
