Wow! Looks like a doozy of a snowfall. At that rate, it will accumulate fast. Out here we just have cloudy and dry.

hrt4me....
The 96 hasn't made a peep yet. It does seem to be somewhat temp related so I won't call it entirely good until it warms up a bit more. We have had a couple of warmish days that it'd normally talk and didn't.
When/if you do it use whatever box thrills you. The idea of an old mustard tin being useful in there just happens to be my sort of humor. Remember, you can cut up a different scrap bit of hose when you build your contraption. Doing that way and leaving your original hose intact would make things easily and quickly reversible.
Anyway, I'll update again as the temps go up.

It turned to sleet and rain and seems to be winding down. It only got a little bit deeper, now everything has a light sheet of ice on it and me and the kid get
ANOTHER SNOW DAY!!!
I think we got pretty lucky. South of here they got a lot more ice. North, a lot more snow. Hope everyone is warm and safe and has power!

Enjoy the snow day and now a long weekend thanks to weather! Hope the rain and sleet shuts off quickly for you. Our local mountains are up for 4-6 feet from tonight through Saturday. Thankfully, no snow is predicted for town here.

Once when I was living in Oregon we got freezing rain at the beginning of a cold streak and the whole town was covered in 1/2" of ice for almost 2 weeks. That's crazy. Glad you don't have that much. Enjoy the snow day.

Hey All,
Just got back from sledding and it was FUN! I think I was the oldest person going down the hill. When the aspirin I'll take before bed wears off around 4am I'll know why.
JBurt- We had a nasty ice storm here a few years ago or so. I woke around 2am to what sounded like fireworks. Standing in the middle of my yard in the snowlit darkness listening to the constant break of branches was ethereal, for that's what the fireworks were. Branches and trees breaking and falling all around me.
Chef- you can always be in our club.
RW- 6" puts this town in a tizzy, 4-6' would cause zombies and apocalypses and random flying cut-off wheels!
racerflea- Zombie Apocalyptic Cut-Off Wheels!!!

One is NEVER too old to enjoy sledding. Fun it is!
6" does the same here in the bigger cities....in these rural parts, even in a hilly town, we are a bit less immobilized by snowfall.
Thankfully, the 4-6' was forecasted for Mt. Hood at the ski area, but so far the snowfall has been minimal there today.

We used to be a lot tougher about snow around here... when I was a kid 6" was "normal-ish" now we get these "stay off the road unless you have to go" warnings... pshhh... I had my front hubs locked just in case and only had to go for 4wd a few times during last week's storm and then mainly to park in/get out of the snow banks...
others were spinning their wheels/getting stuck... you could tell who had proper snow tires and who did'nt... snow is fun ...powerslide the corners and not have to worry about "stunt driving" charges from the cops...
did'nt get to go sledding
We were supposed to get another 3" or so yesterday but it missed us entirely boo hiss...

We are maybe getting more, but it's looking like mostly rain so far.
