Made bracket to put fuse block and a couple of relays on...I really could use a more watertight box...
The bracket is held in with 2 bolts. Undo those and lift straight up to get access to the engine fuse box, should the need arise...
Bolted in....a bit of a wiring mess...

And a few shots of what I've gotten done so far....
Still need to order an isolator, maybe Blue Sea or Sure Power, I haven't decided. Whatever, its going on the firewall, I think.

Only crazy people put bike bottles in their trucks. The idea actually came from the hubby. I'd dismissed it as too nutty. At least he grabbed one with the right lid color. I tried every bottle I had laying around, one from REI, various food and cleaner bottles, even a Volvo bottle. Didn't have time to run to the pick n pull and wanted to see if I could use something I had anyway. The REI bottle was the nicest but I didn't like that it's a smooth round cylinder which would mean a more elaborate cage to be cooked up from scratch.

Going to be powering some new stuff with those dual batts? I like the bike bottle overflow.
After getting tired of front diff oil spitting out of the extended breathing tube, I used a quart (pint?) paint can and lid rigged in as a catch can right behind the fuse bay. Reuse, repurpose and it works great.

Chef- I dunno man, my hubby kept coming over and peering at what I was doing under the hood and shaking his head at the mess I was making. He declared it a mod he won't be doing to his 4Runner. I just don't think I can take all that rejection and tsk tsking another round so I'll leave your truck in your own fine and more capable hands.
rw- catch can....love it! When we head out into the hills we're getting further and further from civilization. I'm trying to make it a little more likely we won't have to bike out. Well, that and eventually some of those fun electrical goodies....
or maybe I just need more power to the 5 horn medley!

Hey hab yes ma'am I got some clarity on it.

Ok, that makes sense. I didn't run the cb sound through the stereo speakers (is that what you had in mind?) nor did I do anything to the stereo so I didn't know. I ran the wiring to the separate fuse block, and to fit the cb in the dash I put in an 'L' connector for the coax to the cb. The bracket was already there, I just removed the junk pocket and stuck the cb in. Thread hijacks welcome when it comes to something for me to learn.

Kitty- I've seen your battery set-up take shape! It makes me wish I'd get around to learning how to weld, get over the stupid cut-off tool and I don't even have aluminum capabilities. Building my own box would have been primo.

Horn clip?
Tell me how to put my video that's on photobucket onto here and I'll provide.
Chef, you know I'd love to come out and shove an extra battery in your truck but I've been busy doing this:
Shrockworks bolt-on custom 65" length and for 1" body lift and painted, not powder-coated. There's nuts on the bolts, they aren't self-tapping.

Side turn signals.....
I'd already done the other side, this is side two....
Made a 'gravestone rub' of the side with the hole and cut out the marks and taped it to the truck. Went back and forth to try to get them as close to the same as possible....
Taped it off with painter's tape. Put extra tape on for in case of skipping cutting wheel...
