And made it to the top.
But- still have a ways to go. There's Chocolate Drops in the background. We're headed a ways over to Chimney Rock and the truck.
And the GPS says...
We took A LOT of water and some gatorade and food. The hubby also got a National Geographic map that goes well with the GPS. We also bring extra batteries- it would be very easy to get lost in those canyons.

Great pics! Thanks for sharing.
And, you found snow. Break out the skis! That sun cupped crusty stuff can be an adventure.

The scenery takes on a decidedly greener look as we go from Needles in Utah over to Maroon Bells in Colorado. Imogene pass was closed again so we just went up to the Tomboy and back down
And took Ophir pass to get over to the Silverton area to camp at 11,990 ft. Any higher was snowed in
Down to Black Bear in Silverton for too much breakfast and up Red Mountain and then Mineral Creek starting at 550 and heading to and over Cinnamon Pass
On to Crested Butte for a night of camping. Off road stuff was still mostly snowed in so we went on to Maroon Bells via gravel then highway. Ah well.

There were dry spots to put a tent.
We were hoping to do the 4 pass loop but there was too much snow for the 3 of us. On the way back down to Crater Lake my boot got a flat tire. Luckily my laces are long so I used them to help tie the sole to the boot and managed to finish the hike with both boots on my feet.
On then, to Leadville for burgers at Wild Bill's (good) and Winter Park for a lucky nice camp spot.
