rain is killing me today! i have entirely too much to do outside so i feel your pain. Drove through the rain on sunday to go ride at st. joes. It was just a little bit too much for me but soldered through and had a good day. Hab you can have the 2wd mud flaps from my 2wd if you need them. I'll be taking them off some time this week. Been a little busy and have yet to make time to work on the little truck since the wedding is in three weeks. at the end of august i'll start digging into it. Figures it's going to rain on my day off.

Augh! Now that the sun's out can I whine about it being too sunny and steamy???
3 down, one to go. The fronts are being a bit of a bear. :/
Thanks for the offer of the mud flaps, mightymouse! Pre-Wabfab spacers I would have jumped on that offer in a flash!
Nothing like a wedding to put everything else on the back burner. Good luck on everything going smoothly and don't sweat it if it doesn't, 'cause when does it ever?

It's looking good Hab!
P.S. are you coming to Co for the 4R Jambo? I won;t be there that weekend, doing Holy Cross the following weekend. But it still would be awesoem to meet you before I join Troy in Houston at the end of August...

96 4Runner. Coolant flush and fill.
Can't get Toyota Red coolant, just the pink and it costs the same as the red but is a dilute, so decided to go ahead and try Subaru's version.
Don't know that it's the best idea but oh well. At least I don't have to worry about anyone adding the wrong stuff (Subaru Long life is green) since I'm the only one who messes with the truck.

'96 4runner....
Using conveyor belting (thank you 92 Toy, I was going to use drive belts but your idea is better) on the fender and to extend the mudflaps. Got the rear done and am now working on the fronts (after this storm finishes rolling through). The rears were easy but the fronts are more of a head scratcher.
Because I don't have enough room between the rear of the wheel well and the tire (and yes, it's been banged on with the Big Friendly Hammer) I am going to try building a hanger out of my left-over bits of aluminum and putting it a little further back, then running a strip partway along the wheel well.
Pics when I get somewhere with it. (Go away, rain and lightning!)

thanks for the mention Hab......looking good....
why did you do it anyway? keep down on the slop or do you guys have the same laws as us limiting the amount your tires can extend from the body?
nonetheless, i hope you agree, it's an easy and cheap mod.

Molly...right now we're thinking Winterpark maybe the 11th or 12th, RMNP the 13th and New Belgium the 14th a.m.
We never have a solid plan, it's not a vacation- it's an ADVENTURE!
92Toy...I did it because the tires were throwing gravel all over the sides of the truck (and everywhere else) and I didn't want any more chips or to hurt anyone else, motorcyclists come to mind. I'd called and double-checked before I put on the spacers, MO does not have a law, I don't have to have these on my truck in my state.
I concur, it was an easy and cheap mod. The belting was a great idea, much nicer (and cheaper) than our original one.

PM'd you back....
Aviator, I have no earthly idea whatever you could be talking about. What is this 'brake dust' you speak of? Next you're going to use high-falutin' words like 'wash' and 'scrub'.
Frightening.

Colorado Springs-
Hiked Garden of the Gods
Denver-
ate at Pantaleone's pizza (butchered that name, didn't I?)
Buck Creek area-
Mountain biked Green mountain, then Baldy to Gashouse Gulch
Buena Vista-
Stopped at the Jamboree, noone in our class was wheeling next day so took the 376 down to Buena Vista for breakfast that morning and wheeled mildly from Tincup to Monarch Crest in a near circle
Mountain Biked Monarch Crest
Camped at Owl Creek Pass near Ridgeway/Cimmaron
Ate at Brown Bear in Silverton and wheeled Mineral Creek from near Ouray back towards Silverston where we participated in a rescue
Camped at Hermosa Creek, was going to ride it but storms changed our plans to riding from the trailhead in Purgatory to end at Hermosa, but on the road
Camped in Mancos
Hovenweep, UT hiked
Bridges NP, UT small hikes to each bridge
Bryce NP, UT hiked down into the canyon- beautiful
Zion NP, UT hiked hidden canyon and emerald pools
Moab UT, mountain biked Klondike, hiked here and there at Arches NP
Vernal UT Camped, mountain biked Flaming Gorge trail
Steamboat CO camped
Winterpark, CO camped, 'wheeled' Rollins pass and hiked to the tunnel,
mountain biked the Tipperary Creek loop
Rocky Mountain National Park, went up Old Fall River Rd, hiked the lakes and falls area
Estes Park, wheeled Pole Hill and camped there
Fort Collins- took New Belgium Brewery tour, met and had a great time there with Lysmachia
Wilson reservoir, KS camped, ate at Russell's,
went home
Camped, wheeled, mountain biked, hiked, even had an occasional shower...
Life is good.
Can I go back now?
