Here is some more hard core tech for you guys....................
So, I need a 3rd row seat pretty soon in the 4runner. I figured that I would look into Jeep seats. So, I ended up ordering a Jeep YJ rear seat from bestop. Its a fold and tumble seat that includes the brackets for install it. Drill six holes, and bolt it in. Works like a champ.
Installed:
FWIW, I got the seat from JCwhitney with a 20% off coupon off the internet and Free Shipping. $248 shipped to my shop.

Well, I haven't updated this thread in a while. Mainly because I haven't done anything to the rig since, but I am now ramping up and collecting parts/steel for the rear bumper/tire carrier setup and the front bumper. I am still really torn on whether to go with tube or plate, but hope to play with some designs over the winter to have something ready by summer for production.
I am also giving a lot of consideration to throwing a solid axle under the front of this thing. I am working with Brian Ellinger at Diamond axle on some new prototypes for the mini trucks, and keep eyeballing one of his axles for the build. I am also doing a bunch of research on getting a 3-link under this thing up front as well as a leaf sprung rear since I really don't want to move the gas tank, and because I think it makes more sense for a complete "kit" designed for the masses.
So basically it would be a dialed in 3-link up front and a leaf sprung rear kit. We'll see how these things pan out though.

So, I have all this hard core tech in my thread. Why not add some more.
Now, keep in mind that I am not a fan of roof racks. I am only using this thing because of the 3rd row seat and not having any storage left in the rig. It will not be used on a regular basis, only when needed when pulling the pop-up around and on long drives with the whole family.
So, I ordered this rack off of Ebay for a whopping $45 shipped on the "Best Offer" method. FWIW, the rack is pretty damn strong. The mounting hardware is worthless though. So, I modified the mounting hardware to work, and got it bolted on.

Well, here we go..........................
Link brackets from Ballistic are on their way. Creeper Joints from TG as well. As will be 14" 2.0 Fox reservoir coilovers, and a Diamond front axle by the end of the day.
My goal is to have this bitch rolling by April 28th for Cruise Moab.
So, here is the build plan:
3-link front. The rear is going to stay stock, but with some OME light duty 2" FJ80 front coils instead of the current ones. It should net me 5" of lift in the rear, and I will do my damnedest to keep the front LOW to match.
I ordered the follow from Ballistic this morning:
1 X Panhard/Trackbar mount BRK-1002
1 X Panhard / Tracbar Frame mount. BRK-1055
1pr Lower axle link brackets BRK-1007 10* 3.5" Axle tube. 9/16" bolt.
3 X Ballistic Forged Poly Bushing 2.63" BUS-664. 9/16" bolt and 1.25-12tpi. Right hand thread
3 x 1.25" -12 tpi Jam Nut. JAM-719 Right hand thread
1 X Adjustable Link Brackets for 2x2 x-member (2 pieces) BRK-1034
1X Link Tower. BRK-1004 9" Vertical Sep, 3.5" axle Tube. 2.63" w/ 9/16" hole.
I will then be ordering three LH thread Creeper Joints, and all the bungs from TG in a few along with the 2.63" hangers, and the bushing/heim setup for the panhard bar.
I will be going poly bushings on the frame side, Creeper joints on the axle side.
Still need to get a 2wd T-100 pan and pickup on order as well. I have an IFS Steering box already, but may go with the 78/79 F150 4x4 box instead like I used to run on my Early Bronco. Especially because its pitman arm forward, and is the biggest piston you can find in a steering box. And, I can get them all day long for $28 at the local pic-n-pull. I ran this box for two years on the Hammers and never felt like I needed hydro assist once.
The Diamond will likely be around 64-65". Still need to talk to Brian about a couple things I want to do with it, but I think I am going with the 9.5" center section.
I plan to run 17x9 Raceline wheels with 5" backspacing. BLING for sure, but I dig them and don't care what anyone else thinks. Tire size will be 35x12.5x17 of some sort. No clue what tire I want to run, but after running the skinny KM2s on the 4runner this winter I am thoroughly unimpressed with how they work in the snow. In fact, they flat SUCK in the snow. Whatever, I go with will be siped and better work better than they do.

Just an update.
So, the solid axle is inevitable. The coilovers are ordered. Going with 14" Fox 2.0" remote res. I had them valved at 70/70 compression/rebound. Should have them in the next few weeks. I will also be going with 12" 250 springs over 14" 350 springs.
The Diamond axle is also ordered. Pass drop with a LC 9.5" center section. 64" WMS-WMS. I'll be running IFS hubs with solid axle spindles and my 4runner Sport brakes on the axle.
I also got my link brackets from Ballistic today too.
I will put together a parts list of everything when I get everything to the shop and start on the swap. Still a few weeks out though.
