With the rear bumper, when the rear hatch is open, is there a significant gap where the step was? Alot of aftermarket bumpers have issues filling that gap. Just curious as am looking to get something like that.
Thanks

There is a small gap when the hatch it open. I would have filled the gap on most rigs, but mine has the gas tank right there anyway now, so its a moot point for me.

Looks sick Scotty! Nicely done!
Very impressive on that center line! That is a HARD, HARD line. I personally have only seen one other rig drive that one, and it was a truggy on 60's and 42's. VERY NICE!
How was the stability, especially up higher on that tree root? I'm sure it was great, but since my hope is to stuff diamonds under my truck, I curious on feed back on various widths.

Stability is excellent on the rig though. Its so low that it sidehills great.
I have to work a few kinks out. One is the front panhard. It has two heims, and I am going to eliminate the one at the frame and just go with a bushing there instead. With the panhard bent how it is to clear the pan, it actually bangs around a little more than I like and makes some clunking that I can eliminate.
The rear bumps worked good, but it hit them A LOT, so that will need to be remedied as well. I plan to also rework the rear coils. It need another inch of clearance in the rear and it will be good to go. Also, one of the rear shocks lost a seal. It happened before it ever hit the trail though, so I think it was just a bad lower seal to begin with.
Other than that it worked pretty well. Now that everything suspension wise is where I want it, I am going to tack weld the jam nuts into place as a couple of the lower backed off (which I expected)
The towing went excellent as well. I got 16.8mpg towing the pop-up back from BV. Tranny cooler works great too as I can now play with the OD button and it never reached over 190* the entire way home. Set the cruise at 75mph on I-25 and it runs down the road with zero issues.

I was first through the creek, so IMHO I got the easiest run of anyone going through.
FWIW, Holy Cross is a great trail. Its not too hard at all, but will get your attention in a hurry in some areas.

Oh, and that center line wasn't hard at all. The rig popped right up it. It honestly never even slipped a tire going up it.

The thing I love about holy cross is the scenery, which can't be beat IMHO, and for me, its got plenty of lines that I can't make, so its still challenging.
To be honest, the set up you have is a real inspiration for my own build, as I have been planning to do a 4rear/3front for a long time, but the concern was always road manners and needing a sway bar to make it work.
Not to sound like a dick, but I'm really glad that you built that set up first, and were the guinea pig
Congrats on a great rig. Now don't sell this one!

LOL!
Well, I wish I could afford to do that. I'd be willing that truck sells for 25k MINIMUM.
FAR too much work and quality products to go for less than that.
Heck, Each of those axles, loaded, costs more than my truck is worth. Probably close to 3k at each end.

So, I was able to get a few of the little things taken care of on the rig that I wanted to fix before its wheeled again.
First thing is that the rear coils were walking around too much without having a centering ring. So, I added one.
Then, when the rear coils would re-seat, they would bang and pop into place. The fix was to drill out the original bump stop cone and bolt it to the upper spring mount. This will guide the coil back into place.
While reinstalling it all I used a 25mm (7/8" spacer) to get me a little more ride height in the rear. Frame height is now at 23" even and rig sits level. No more bottoming out either.

One cool built. Something I would want to have build out of mine, but my wife saying its a DD and family hauler, so I should keep it in the mind. She approves the budget, and I have to take her opinion in consideration.
